I think the Orphans could be a sleeper team to get the best winning percentage against the historical one rickysdad44, I was tempted to go with them.

The other one I would keep an eye on is the Beaneaters because of their pitching.

After much deliberation and countless hours of sleeplessness, using the most advanced sabremetrics and hersheybearmetrics, and my best WISdom, I hereby select the CLEVELAND BLUES with the penultimate pick in the inaugural 1901 Cooperstown Historical Replay League. Look out world, the BLUES are gonna ROCK you!

bublooo, the Senators, in all their fabulous glory, are yours.

Complete rules are located in the first post of this thread, but a few reminders:

-- Only the players listed for your team on page 1 of this thread may appear in games. Please be sure to load the correct version of your player; if he appeared for multiple teams in 1901, you may only use the appropriate PARTIAL season version of your player. So there should be no COMBINED versions of any 1901 player in use.
-- Every 1901 team has fewer than 25 players, so each of us will need to add some $200K players to our rosters in order to enter our teams. Position players should be chosen from the 19th century. Pitchers can be chosen from any year.
-- HOWEVER, these players must never be used in games. So please take the following steps:
1.) Set all of your 200K position players to REST against both LHP and RHP.
2.) Manually go into your rest, defensive replacement, and pinch hitting hierarchies and REMOVE the $200K players.
3.) Set all $200K pitchers to rest.
4.) In the advance pitcher settings, uncheck the relief box for your $200K pitchers. Set their inning available to 9, and set their TPC and MPC to 5. Set their pull setting to 5.

Under these conditions, WIS should never use a $200K player in a game. If there is a roster emergency due to injuries, WIS may use these players as an emergency replacement, but these are the ONLY circumstances in which $200K player usage will be allowed. If a player ever appears in a game for other than that reason, the game will be forfeited.

That's my wishful thinking!

It's really going to come down to how I manage the pitching staff. This could be good or (most likely) this could be a long first couple of seasons.

But it will be fun none the less.

We redraft after each season...
