I don't think of this as a "screw your neighbor theme", where you have zero control of your roster. I think of this theme more as a $100-$105M theme, where each team has holes somewhere, based on which strategy to employ. Those of you that draft high prices studs early will end up with lower quality teammates, while those who grab the cheap unusable options early will have better quality teammates to choose from, but aren't getting the stud seasons of the nominated players.
The nominated player process somewhat determined which direction you ended up going. Those who drafted Walsh, M.Brown, etc. pretty much knew you would be drafting late in each round. Some of you drafted a cheap guy with a stud teammate, giving you an advantage in the draft order. And a few of you went the "kill the salary cap" route by nominating useless expensive players with only a few cheap seasons. All three strategies can and have worked.
