Maybe you and thewizard can get a group rate on counseling. Something is wrong with how your brains function.
Come with us Mike. You will be the catalyst.

That doesn't really answer the question. You've torn into thewizard, justifiably, but pretty much ignored beachhouse doing the same thing. It's come to light that you asked thewiz to change his O/D in your conference.

Surely you see how this makes you look really selfish and self-centered. It definitely appears that you only care because it affects you(which, as you know, I've accused you of before).
I never wanted him to convert... It's out of context. At the time, I thought FB/PRESS strat was a bad strategy, but theOnly proved it is actually great when you are doing it well. His reputation got higher using it, he was at a point where he could battle for EES players. I thought changing to another style would be less difficult recruitingwise since you do not need 12 players to make your team click. That was about it.

As for Beach, he is not defending the glitch as something to use to win.

But you started ripping thewizard BEFORE he defended his cheating ways.

C'mon. Admit it bothered you because he's in your conference and, if he was doing it in another world, you wouldn't have exploded over it. That's the truth and anyone reading this knows it. I don't want to side with thewizard on anything but he nailed it.

Of course it bothered me more, but I would be ******, if it was you losing games because of it. I'd be as ******. I don't know the implication of what Beach has done, I don't even think he plays in one of the world I play in. I know theWiz changed my seeding, changed a lot of other people's seeding. Some teams lost against him because he inflated his players stats. I am happy Bath won the whole thing, but theWiz almost beat him, losing by only 3.. Imagine. He had a clear path to the NT after UCLA.

I'd need to investigate Beach's teams. I haven't to be honest.

So your argument is that you were trying to help Wizard out, recommending a better O-D for him to recruit with? Lol... you are freakin unbelievable.

Until 3.0, in D1, fb/press was a gimmick to get higher prestige to move to a big six team or a mid-major. It made the process go faster. In 3.0, recruiting changed and teams can battle A teams so the powerhouse are weaker, therefore can be beaten by a good coach doing fb/press. I did not know that until theOnly won it at Utah and became a powerhouse at Sacramento State in Phelan. I would rather win fairly. And I face WFU two to three times a season so it's not like our games have much impact in whether we get to the nt or not, recruiting has a lot more to do with it. Using fb/press means that theWiz and I never battle on recruits since I have been going for underclassmen that will go ees. I had nothing to gain if he had changed strat really... NC-SC is basically the same recruiting pool.

So...on the OP's topic..."hiding" on the considering list is not a glitch. That was game design. Very poorly thought out design, but that is what seble intended. Since the problem is experienced primarily when DII and DIII users are stopped at Spud's redlight, while attempting to land OVR ranked recruits, the fixes are obvious:
  1. Prevent D3 schools from being able to recruit ranked recruits (or recruits within initial ratings > 515...whichever)....same with D2...no OVR ranked recruits (or initial ratings > 585...again...whichever). That will pretty much eliminate the issue....also,
  2. Make the sorting of schools on the considering list non-alphabetical...it could be random...it could be by division...it could be by total effort...whatever...just not alphabetical.
Fixed.

3.0 never attempted to stop poaching. If you use enough AP to unlock all actions, then you can perform all actions in the signing cycle. The first Beta version intended that all actions would have instantaneous feedback. It would have meant, in order to sign "early" recruits" you would need to have been online from 4:55 - 5:08 pm EST to defend your recruit (early version had no HV max). Other users could simply drive you down to 'moderate' in the last few minutes before the cycle...with precision like ebay auction. Only when Beta testers pointed out that this would result in more poaching than in 2.0, did seble adjust back to on cycle actions. A lot of the complaints about this issue are simple nonsense.

I suppose it was intentional in that there is a considering list, and seble put it there. But I am certain that it was not intended to let teams at the bottom of the alphabet lie in wait to snipe recruits at signing cycle. In one of the last threads I followed from the beta forum, seble basically acknowledged the potential for a problem, and that it would have to be monitored and fixed, if necessary, post-launch. I don't think the problem is nearly as serious as some insist. I think it should be fixed, because it's a tactic with no real life corollary that some teams can utilize for a (pretty small) specific population of recruits, that's not available to everyone. The obvious fix is to add a scroll bar and sort function. I'm not a programmer, so I can't say if it would be an easy fix or not.

I disagree that its more of a problem for D2 and D3. I think its bad for D1 since once you open actions you can dump 20 HVs in one cycle. D3 teams can't afford to do that.

btw, I wish they just put a per cycle limit on HVs and not a total limit. Like they did with APs.

Completely agree with the latter part. Granted, I drop all HVs and CV as soon as they're unlocked on players I know I want to go all-in on, but I'd be completely open to changing my recruiting strategy if that change was made.

There are no O/D gimmick combinations. All of them can work with the right coach behind the wheel.

IMHO, if you are competing "on level" (e.g. D1 v. D1 or D2 v. D2), then there is no issue here. The signing preference is known, the game (like or not) is designed such that you cannot, with certainty, determine the remaining resources of your opponent, and there is nothing delaying your eligibility to sign a recruit relative to your opponent. That is the game.

However, I do not think there is any question that the default order of the list should not be alphabetical. That goes for teams at "VH", "H", etc. The order within each group should be either by the leader, random, or by division/prestige.

Honestly, if you're looking for "realism", once a top 10 is established, it should be locked. Kids always have a top 10, top 5, top 3, top 2(or at least it's reported that way). I can't think of a kid saying "I'm considering these teams" in his senior season then, out of nowhere, go somewhere else. I'm sure it's happened but it's the exception not the rule.

Of course, I expect EVERYONE to hate that idea as it really f's up fallback options for those with huge resources.

It's more of a problem at D2 and D3. At D1, you can never be sure exactly when a recruit will sign, so the hide-and-snipe strategy comes with more risk and less reward.

Total limit on HVs is both more realistic and more competitive, and it is the primary feature working to mitigate the (unrealistic) advantage of having 6 open scholarships. Hard pass.
