redshirt issues..... Topic

If I lose my tourney game tonight, I'm gonna send a ticket and ask them to let me adjust my gameplan then sim it again.

Cool.

Kudos to CS ... seem to have a much better attitude!

Do you hate me now too Mike? I try not to war with anyone. I would've taken the deduction in the first place. I just clicked it off because I didn't know it decreased the more you clicked it. Nothing more. So I just tried another player. I wasn't doing what you guys say that the wizard did. Not by any means. If my second choice would've accepted the redshirt, I would've stayed with him. Since he didn't, I just simply tried to go back to my original target to deal with the -6 and the -6 was replaced with the -TON. 30 seconds, some forum chit chat, and then a ticket. Not hours of button shuffling. I mean no harm anywhere.

You're fine, don't worry too much about it. You left it up to CS to decide and clearly they think it was a small honest mistake and changed it.

I'd be really surprised if you were the first person ever that they did this for.
10/17/2017 8:25 PM
Nah. I just think CS sets a precedent when they do things like that. A bad one. Everyone who makes a mistake should send a ticket and ask for a correction. Maybe they get lucky, maybe they don't. But they SHOULD try because it's obvious CS will do it. At least sometimes.

It's HBD but I did this. I didn't hit revocable waivers on a handful of guys one season. Three got claimed, I got nothing. Tough luck for me. Not sure they would have reversed the claims but, if I got the right guy, maybe a ticket works. I didn't do it because I made the mistake. Live, learn, don't drink and make rosters moves.

Anyway, as I said, my generation doesn't even THINK to send a ticket. We eat it.

Did his preference say wants to play during recruiting?
That has no impact.
?
My experience has been if his preference is "wants to play", he is not going to take redshirt either before or after you sign him.

Must have some impact.
It only has an impact before he signs and during recruiting. He will turn to a Very Bad preference for Wants to Play if you use the Inform of Redshirt action. I've actually still signed a player who wanted to play after doing this and then redshirted them.

And yeah I've Redshirted players who had the wants to play preference (without sending the inform of redshirt).

The recruiting preferences are an independent feature and were added with 3.0. The actual redshirting portion of the game was not changed.

Here's one: "Inform of redshirt"

I wanted to see what would happen. Little did I know that the dude might never speak to me again. Well, that's what happened and I couldn't fix it. Should have sent a ticket asking them to undo the damage I'd done by being curious.

I think you've made your point Mike.
10/17/2017 8:32 PM
Yeah but I want CS to get flooded by tickets so I'll keep on til I'm tired. Thanks, forum monitor.

Withdraw scholarship is another.

How in the hell was I to know all of my effort would be negated? I thought I'd be able to re-offer the next cycle.
10/17/2017 8:37 PM
I get your concept Mike. But even those are things that, have a processing time. You can click, inform of redshirt, and withdraw scholarship. But those actions can be withdrawn. Also (I could EASILY be wrong on this) those actions are documented that on this site, that they will have negative impact. I'm not "SURE" that my situation is documented somewhere. And I asked CS to point me in the direction of where I can find it, if it is documented. They did not do so. Maybe you can point me in the right direction. If it's out there, I'll man up, and I will say..... ouch, now I look a tiny bit foolish for that. I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong. I just don't know where it's in writing, that doing "this" will cause a negative reaction

Random questions for you Mike..... 1) Do you mind if I ask how many tickets you've sent for various reasons? I think I've sent 3 total. (And one wasn't related to me. It was something I misread about class limits and I sent a ticket that my team I just picked up had 7 seniors maybe and I was informing them of something I thought was an error. When it was really an error of my stupidity)..... And 2) how old are you? You talk about your generation, but you are very opinionated, and you have a lot to say. That trait usually goes with youth. But when I hear "my generation" that sounds like an older persons comment. It's conflicting. I'm 36 for the record.

I'm not getting on you. You started hitting buttons, in a panic, then came here to find out WTF was happening. It happens. I don't think you can "un-inform of redshirt" or "withdraw scholarship withdrawal" but that's not important. You made a mistake, someone said "Send a ticket!!!", you did and it got corrected.

I think EVERYONE should "Send a ticket!!!" when they make a mistake. That's all I'm saying.

I don't think you're getting on me. I really don't.
10/17/2017 9:26 PM
But you can withdrawal those two things. Scholarship withdrawal and inform of redshirt. If you do it at 11:15am, and the next cycle is 5pm, you can toggle back and for the entire time if you wanted to. Go into History on the recruit. So if u did it at 11:15, you'd have 5 hours and 45 minutes to toggle it back and forth all you wanted. My situation was instant.
