Two Recruiting Sessions (poll) Topic

Second period is not working for owner who join in the job process. For that reason, and because it's basically bad for the game, I think changes are needed.

My vote was highly enlightened -- indifferent, because it is the game that exists and the one I am playing. I take it as it is, not how I would want it. There are changes or tweaks I'd suggest if asked; but I have not been asked, so irrelevant.

Thanks to all the redlines it was quite easy and quick to get to the end of the thread.

Good post. I don't like RS2, but it is part of the game.

2/3rds of the voters don’t think it’s a problem.
Many of the folks who think it is a negative have already left.

Sometimes I wonder just how many people did "leave". Personally, I stopped playing for about three months or so.....just long enough for most of my teams to turn into dumpster fires. But I figured I'd give it a second look and ended up picking up just as many teams as I had before. I lost some teams that I had for a very, very long time (which kind of sucked) but that was of my own doing.

I know that the numbers are down in all the worlds across the boards but I'd be interested to know how many people were in each world at the end of 2.0 versus the start of 3.0. I'm guessing that it would be a fairly significant number of those who did leave for good.

I really wish that Seble would do something about trying to recruit in RS2 after taking over a new team. It really kind of sucks having to pick through the few decent scraps left trying to find a player even halfway decent that a coach actually has a shot at signing. Most of the players still left already have teams/coaches so heavily invested in them that it's not worth the time or trouble even bothering to try to sign them. I like the idea mentioned earlier about adding some new players to RS2. Maybe that would help alleviate some of the "problems" that some coaches have issues with.

Rather than add new players, maybe give a group of them a big boost. Sort of like the DITR in HBD. Kid suddenly found some skills between RS1 and RS2. IMO, that would create a system where you might just want to throw a few AP at that 12th man so you'll have a slight headstart on anyone who chooses "all in" on 2-3 guys. And, with all the extra resources you get when you take over a team, you'd easily be able to find/recruit on somewhat level ground.

Give us time to recruit, and don't penalize us because we did not have ap in the 1st period. In Valpo, I will have six schollies filled but 4 of them are a scholly offered in desperation, last day. So they basically will be d2 players, not even d2 top talent.

Why would you sign 4 players you don't like? Wouldn't it have been better to sign 1, take three walk-ons and get the resources for next season?

I'm no expert but I think that's poor recruiting.

Anyway, what I did:

Job change: Simmy signed 2, I had two more to fill. I found one that I thought could at least be a serviceable b/u C when/if I got a good one. Kept missing on the 2nd player, took the walk-on.

1st full season: 4 seniors, 1 walk-on, 3 cut. Signed 6, last one is a project. 2 walk-ons, going with 10. I could have filled spots 11-12 but there was nothing but crap and I'd already taken a limited player. Just makes no sense to me to sign 4 guys that you consider mid-level D2 talent.

Then you have no complaint. You made your bed for 4 seasons when you could have taken your lumps for 1 season and set yourself up much better for the next 4. You made a conscious decision.

I just took over Memphis and had to take a pretty marginal player just to get to 3 walkons just so simmy wouldn't sign a player for me. I also plan to cut 3 more players coming up.

But I wasn't going to sign crap players just to fill my roster. As ****** as it is, I'll just take my lumps this season.

See? Me and my sometimes BFF, sometimes arch rival, agree. Don't do dumb things.
2/6/2018 11:02 AM
Not crap. Just not D1. But I have 4 filled and you both are jealous cause you ain't coaching Valpo
