[CANCELED] Increasing Salary Draft, 2018 Topic

Thanks, but I actually have to give credit for this to brianjw. He proposed it a few years ago. I just fine-tuned / formalized the idea.

Best I can tell there are only 21 unique position players with a salary over $12M. That assures we don't all even get one of them.

That's where it gets weird People drafting expensive pitchers they never intend to use. I still think we could run out of players if drafters don't foresee the danger or just roll the dice to get the good players first...
right. i mean, in which round does jbohrman take Brickyard Kennedy?

I hope this happens. Poetic justice.

How many play the "I'm being reckless and counting on others playing safe to bail me out" strategy?

Hmmmm, this is a very slow draft, and it's allowing for a lot of strategy to be bantered about in the open forum. This might give a slight advantage to those of us in the later part of the first round.

It's interesting to see so many great owners so flummoxed. Great theme Ozomatli!
I'm bantering strategy because I don't want this to turn into a draft where avoiding penalty points is more important than winning.

In order to meet our end-of-draft target date of the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Round 1 needs to be completed by this Saturday, so I am adding timeslots for that day. This pace is much slower than I had anticipated. As previously mentioned, we will be doing one round per day from that point on.

It's slow because a lot of preparation is required. I don't know about others but I procrastinated until round 1 was over.

Timeslots added to Page 1. Reminder that all times are EST

Yeah, I wasn't really prepared to pick 4th, and not having the opportunity to see other picks made it slower. I'm guessing that by pick 20 more people will have decided what they want to do.

Wow, mdc is going to just about double his total post count by the time this draft is over

I too kinda of exhaled after scratching and clawing to get this far and haven’t even began the research others are talking about.
