Who was the first American League player to reach 3,000 hits and 400 Home Runs?
Are CrazyStengel's answers right? They seem like very good guesses if not.

Here are two more:

1.What pitcher had a 2-5 won-loss record in seven World Series starts, despite a 1.32 ERA in those appearances?

2. Who held the record for most wins by a left-handed pitcher before Warren Spahn?

I'm pretty sure #2 is Eddie Plank.

Correct-a-mundo as Samuel L. Jackson (in Pulp Fiction) would say.

I think a few of those losses were to Christy Mathewson who threw three shutouts against the Athletics in one World Series alone. Greatest performance ever.

How about a couple of baseball in pop culture questions?

1. About which then-active pitcher did Bob Dylan write a song in 1976?

2. Name two MLB managers mentioned by Charles Schulz in his "Peanuts" comic strip.

(Note about #2: There could be more than two, but there are two I clearly remember.)

Correct.

"Used to work on Mr. Finley’s farm
But the old man wouldn’t pay"

And so on.

Not one of his great sports songs. I'd rank Hurricane at the top, followed by Who Killed Davey Moore.

Lyrically "Catfish" ain't much, but I like the bluesy guitars and harmonica.

The idea is nice, but it's not Dylan's best, agreed.
