What part of "she changed her entire philosophy to say the stupidest **** when she realized it could make her a lot of money" do you not understand?
This is kind of dirty, Tang. You are questioning her character when you literally have no idea what’s in her heart. Is it possible that maybe she had a paradigm shift that changed her world view? I am not a Candace Owens fan as find her arguments to be quite thin, but to question her character is just wrong.
UofA keeps citing a one-liner completely ignoring the context of her point in that speech. Yes. She set herself up for people to take her out of context, but I would hope that more people would have more class than that and actually respond to her argument rather than picking a single sentence that is worthless without context to rip her. I have watched that entire hearing and that is not what she was saying at all.
It does get frustrating to watch our society constantly attack the character of those in which we disagree. That solves nothing. It just pulls us further apart and will ultimately lead to the destruction of our country if something doesn’t give.
Dude, that line isn’t gonna fly in context either. It was dumb and messed up, because she’s just a grifting troll. But sure:
"Whenever we say 'nationalism,' the first thing people think about, at least in America, is Hitler. You know, he was a national socialist, but if Hitler had just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well, OK, fine. The problem is that he wanted — he had dreams outside of Germany. He wanted to globalize. He wanted everybody to be German, everybody to be speaking German, everybody to look a different way. That's not, to me, that's not nationalism. So in thinking about how we could go bad down the line, I don't really have an issue with nationalism. I really don't. I think that it's OK."
It’s almost worse in context. “The problem is that he had dreams outside Germany.” Oh, ok.
