UCLA Professor Suspended Topic

I'm just not sure I get the outrage. Because one bad thing happened on a college campus, we are all in danger?

I do not get how you can NOT be outraged? A professor has been suspended and is under police protection because he would not make special arrangements for students based on their race. This shouldn't be a Republican vs Democrat issue. This should be, we live in a free country issue.

Sure. This specific instance is bad. But you aren't just outraged over this, and you are clearly trying to make a broader point about American society today. What's your larger argument, beyond the scope of college campuses?

Tangy, you kinda sound like a Trump defender...........but not a supporter.
LOL

Activists hate eveything that does not conform to their own point of view. Allow me to make a short list of famous activists that liked to silence others.

Maximillian Robespierre
Muhammad Ahmad
Vladimir Lenin
Ismael Enver Pasha
Adolf Hitler
Josef Stalin
Mao Zedong
Kim Il-sung
Fidel Castro
Pol Pot
Idi Amin Dada
(your name here)
George Lincoln Rockwell
Timothy McVeigh
Charles Manson
Father Coughlin
Bull Connor
Nathan Bedford Forrest
Andrew Jackson
Eric Rudolph
The KKK
Oh yeah. The list could go on forever.

What's happening right now is not activism. It's the reactions of an omnipotent child having a temper tantrum.
BING F#**ing GO!

I don't know this detail, so I'm gonna ask.
Mr. usf_bulls......... Sir, Have we ever agreed on anything of a political nature before this?
I'm a classic liberal.
You are not I think, am I correct?

This may be the 1st public agreement.
And I gotta say.

I agree BIGLY!
bob, gomiami1972/usf_bulls is the same person. I switch back and forth because I'm mentoring somebody in HBD on the usf one. We have agreed several times. Sometimes, we are the only two who hold a particular position, especially when wylie doesn't chime in.

I have been a classic liberal all my life, although I used to refer to myself as a libertarian 20 years ago or so. The difference between us is, like any philosophical movement, there is no one standard. I lean more "right" and you lean more "left" but classic liberalism is classic liberalism. It is certainly not the conservatism nor progressive liberalism that dominates the landscape today.
ahhhhhhh I see.
Your latter persona must lean a tad more to the right LOL.
Or I always read that guys (excuse me Salamander) posts with my more lefter eye.
:-)

It is 2020, in America, and tweeting out that "some cops are good" can get you fired.

The righteous , totalitarian left is truly a sight to behold. I always laugh when they cite 1984, as if they are not the people Orwell is warning us about! Oy vey. It's going to be a tough decade.

Now, WAIT a minute. THIS is a big story in Arizona.

This new "dean" (a female) had her job offer removed. That part is correct.

The idea that it was done because of her tweeting out that "some cops are good" is complete hogwash.
I don't do links so I have no idea what the freebeacon story actually says.

BUT, IF they're making the claim as suggested by the Guitarguy they are not a credible news source and NO ONE should pay them any attention or read their lies!

The dean of Walter Cronkite School of Journalism is a highly coveted position here at ASU.
It seems that, while a professor at Loyola, this woman made numerous comments to POC that the POC found offensive.
Once She was selected, the POC spoke up. Investigation commenced. Her selection was withdrew!

She never once denied the charges.
Your post is FAKE NEWS!

What were these comments (microagressions) that were found to be so offensive? Were they legitimately offensive, or offensive to only the most sensitive SJW's?

I personally don't know. They allegedly happened at Loyola. Then once the "issue" surfaced, at that point many ASU professors (and perhaps others) ALSO publicly complained about the "candidate's" behavior and attitude while here at ASU (not very long).

The original complaints had to do with "splaining" to POC (black women IF I'm not incorrect) that they needed to wear their hairstyles to make themselves appear "less black" if'n they wanted to actually succeed in the law business.

I interpret that as trying to "splain" to them that IF they wanted to maximize their job opportunities and career advancement likelihood that these women wannabe lawyers needed to be "aware" that wearing "fro" or going "nappy" is gonna cost them. Whiten up if'n you want to get ahead seems to be the message she advocated.

Certainly not very PC, or acceptable at this moment in time.

Orwell was a social democrat, and we are governed by a fascist who is limiting first Amendment rights.

Can you PLEASE focus on the issues that actually matter? This is my problem with you anti-SJW's. You are so caught up in your bubble that you have no idea what's going on outside of Twitter.

Social Justice Warrior. It's a buzzword that basically means "offended woke college kid who is really stupid but also will destroy Western Civilization."

Guitarguy, I honestly believe that if we talked about what politicians are doing, and politics on a national level, we could agree a lot. I don't even have an issue when you cite these small, insignificant stories. I do have an issue when you say "the left" and "I'm not voting for Democrats again." That annoys the **** out of me, because nothing you have said relates to politicians in any way.

Even if the entire Republican base was fascist (we'll see in four years), if they still nominated Mitt Romney or whatever, I wouldn't have a problem. What some portion of the base does is completely irrelevant in terms of who you vote for.

You said you would write up your ideology in time. I'm still waiting. I would like you to explain why these things caused you to stop voting for Democrats, because I don't see a connection.
