I appreciate your honesty. I wish you would acknowledge that your own views contribute heavily to the political divide and lack of peace in America.
For instance, when you vote for candidates because (or like them because) they make people mad (thus increasing the divide), you make it impossible to participate in rational political discussion. Can you at least see why this parallel would frustrate the hell out of me?
What motivation to you have for complaining about the lack of peace when you like people who, by your own statement, serve a purpose of dividing?
Because people in MA cannot call themselves Trump supporters without being vilified by the “woke” crowd. That’s not right. What I despise most about Leftists is the freedoms they take away. Same as I despise about the Alt Right. If I tell someone on the Alt Right that we are all equal they will vilify me. If I tell someone on the very Left that I like many of Trumps policies they will vilify me. That’s not right. Not remotely. I was wrong about my comments related to Jews. That’s on me. I am wrong to support Trump for selfish reasons. Nevertheless until we get our freedoms back, I will.
Hold on, please. I really want to have a discussion with you about whether Trump or the leftists are taking away more freedoms.
First of all, supporting Trump is wrong, in my eyes. Secondly, the left and the alt-right are NOT the same. Not even close. The alt-right wants to MURDER YOU for being Jewish. They want to use the government to ban freedoms. The left will give you **** for supporting Trump. They won't ban the Republican Party. Please never equivocate the two.
Here's a list of freedoms that Trump is trying to take away (I can source these if you want):
- Trying to ban burning the flag
- Wants to expand libel laws to sue the press for making claims that in retrospect turn out to be false
- Is suing CNN for publishing a poll that he doesn't like.
- Has tried to stop books from publishing that say things that he doesn't like.
- Is trying to revoke Article 230, which would essentially end all social media platforms like Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc. because Twitter flagged ONE of his tweets as misinformation.
- Told a private company to fire employees for protesting
- Supports the military coming in to fire on peaceful protesters. Fired tear gas into a crowd of peaceful protesters to get a photo op in front of a church (some of the people he tear gassed were members of said church, and no one from the church that I have seen supported his actions, or were even consulted).
That's pretty bad. Now, give me a list of what freedoms the left are trying to take away. Keep in mind that we are talking about politicians in order to avoid a false equivalence.
Trump's a fascist. I know you are going to get really triggered over that remark, but I am willing to defend it, as well.
To better describe my frustration with your position, let me use an analogy. Let's say I supported a Presidential Candidate who wanted to nuke Israel and take away the first amendment. When I would openly identify as a supporter of this candidate, some other people would chastise and vilify me. Now, my argument becomes that I not only support this candidate because they make my political opponents angry, but also because my opponents are trying to take away my freedoms. Do you get where my frustration comes from?
