Being thrown out of a league in-season Topic

I got the clue. I already had a run in with him.
Great clue!
And the walrus was Paul.

There should a rule, or at least an unwritten rule, that people who have less than so many seasons under their belt cannot be a commish. I have to remind myself there are teenagers and early twenty year olds on this site.

Not until they have a solid working knowledge of how the site works, and therefore can set rules that make sense, and that can be enforced. I applaud enthusiasm, but you need to know what you are doing. I should know, I once started a progressive league without enough experience. It didn't go well.

When Doc was just starting his career he would get confused easily. There was one incident in which someone asked why he had a rectal thermometer behind his ear. Turns out some poor patient had the unpleasant experience of having a Cross Sterling ballpoint pen shoved in their hindquarters.

Doc didn't really take constructive criticism too well either. When someone pointed out his mistake, he just pouted and went around telling people, "Some b*tthole stole my pen..."

if it is who I think it is, he invited me into a league, waited til I picked my team, and then booted me from a league right before the season started because I was "too good." Lol. I'd stay away too.

There are a number of commissioners I steer clear of. One completely abandoned his league after it filled (it was taken over by an experienced player). One changed the league rules after he saw my roster because he thought my team looked "unexpectedly strong." One exited and reentered his own league several times (with the, to me, clear intent of getting a better 'real names' AAA draw). One abandoned his league mid-season when he was mired in last place. One was a world class forum whiner who kept insisting that WIS had a grudge against him and was deliberately punishing his team. One (and I suppose this could have been accidental) realigned the league to put him with the owners with the weakest records and put the owners with the strongest records in a single division in the other league. It's live and learn. I make a note of all of them and never enter their leagues again. I try to enter only leagues with established commissioners or run by players I've been up against enough times to have a sense of what they're like. All of that said, I applaud the people who take the time and effort to start a league. I've been playing years and years and have never been a commissioner myself -- I just don't have the patience for the headaches

The commish in question has apparently done something similar to the first thing to someone else - although I think his team got booted because it looked too good. And the second thing was rumored in this current league - which set off the series of events that led to me getting temporarily booted.

Commissioners who do these kinds of things seem to be insecure with themselves.

I think I was in that one, and I still wonder if he was getting league founder credits (which is supposed to reimburse your team) without actually using his paid season. Maybe he was stockpiling credits while having to do nothing at all. Idk, but I do know one of his leagues started after his name got taken off as commissioner, and then he complained to Admin, even though he wasn’t in the league.

d_rock07, I believe we are talking about the same guy. I remember someone (might have been you) even raising a question in the forum as to whether he was deliberately bailing on leagues he started in order to amass undeserved founder credits. I played in several of his leagues with no trouble, but because of this incident and several abrupt league cancelations, I've steered clear of him since.

If you bail on a league how do you still get founders credit? That doesn’t seem possible
10/5/2021 11:29 AM
His name was still under the Founder section, even though his team wasn’t in the league. I don’t know how that’s possible, but that’s where my speculation comes from
