I forgot to renew Topic

I wasn't here back then so I'll defer to you, Gil. He didn't mention anything other than the fact that you've always had to buy seasons, and then apply those seasons to a team. I didn't ask about intentionally leaving teams as we were talking about people losing teams by accident.

"Note: if you don't have any seasons available in your pool, the auto renew will fail and you'll lose your team."

That just seems easily addressable to me.
totally agree that they should enhance the auto renew!

i couldn't remember what changed either till that hour elapsed, and i'm sure i don't remember it all, either - but that intentionally leaving teams was just an example that came to mind as something i couldn't do. which is obscure but the reason why is not - that whole page/place we go to manage renewals and to see renewal status and stuff, it did not exist. there was no renewal management on the user side, you could add seasons, or not.

i don't think it was a great leap forward in terms of the quality of the renewal process itself, honestly. but it was a big difference in the sense they started with no UI or anything. now that all that exists, its probably a lot easier for them to go make the fix? which in truth, i agree we've probably been asking for for 15+ years - let us auto renew via CC.

Oh wow! That's wild they didn't even have that page. That's definitely some improvement then.

It was my first experience with the new coach penalty. Don't like it but I feel I made the best of it....

Before I messed up I was in 2 late battles for 4 star recruits. My best guess both those battles 50/50. The new coach penalty took me right out of those battles. I had to adjust and I end up with 2 recruits. 1 is a 3 star recruit who will likely be a future backup, the other a 1 season left transfer player that I am just kicking the can to next year.

I can't complain since I got a 5 star recruit in the first phase, and odds say I win one 4 star recruit and lose the other. 1 of those 4 star recruits I believe will be a stud while these 2 guys I got are deep bench guys.
as much as i am all for giving the old coach their job back, having a bit of a penalty there waiting for them sounds pretty reasonable to me. so i had a great deal of compassion for your initial situation but very little for this part, keeping in mind the good chances another coach was meaningfully inconvenienced to accommodate you / whoever forgot to renew.

HD has changed the renewal stuff significantly since that 15 year ago time this happened that someone was mentioning (which, btw, hilarious). i don't remember how it changed or if it really got better or worse, but they did do a bunch of stuff to try to make it better, at some point?
I was not asking for sympathy or special circumstances, I was just stating my opinion on the rules in general and chatting about my first experience with the new coach penalty.

I would like to see the rules changed going forward and not changed for me. This will happen to more people down the line, and maybe even to me again, and I would like to see that avoided by making it less likely that this will ever happen again to anyone..

no offense intended! i think that is a reasonable position. i wasn't trying to be antagonistic or make it about you personally - more i was trying to make the point i didn't think an adjustment was in order to deal with these edge case renewal situations, doesn't seem worth spending their precious time on i guess. if a new coach change should be made, then IMO, it should be about actual new coaches. and mostly, i think the new coach penalty is ok personally. it does hit pretty hard, so i'd be fine with them adjusting it, too.

I didnt take it personally. I am short on time or would respond with a longer post.

This did have a domino effect as 2 coaches won easy battles and I end up with 2 recruits that other coaches would of gotten.

What they should do is enable auto billing with the auto renew. Problem solved
2/14/2022 8:11 PM
If you have auto-renew enabled, it should first try to use any credits available. Then charge your preferred card for the rest. No refunds! Haha.
