Put me down for LSU and Louisana Tech
I kinda think that LSU is good enough on their own already, but okay, we'll let you add Malone in. So Shaq, Malone, Pettit, Maravich and Chris Jackson.
Pretty sure you said LSU couldn't combine schools on the first page.

You're right. I'm sorry HDSL, but LSU is good enough already, giving you Malone would basically guarantee the best team with a front line of Shaq, Malone and Pettit. I'm gonna have to say no to that combo after all. I had already said that these schools (North Carolina, Houston, Duke, Georgetown, Indiana, Syracuse, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan) could not combine. If you want LSU alone let me know.

Indiana, Syracuse, Houston, Ohio State and Michigan are still available. Lucas and Havlicek is a very strong start for anyone who wants Ohio State.

Every college theme I've participated in has been won by Wake Forrest. Now you're allowing the best owner to add 15-16 Curry? And there's no cap?

Just give Ben the championship now. LOL

Just heard Bill Russell died. I hope someone takes San Francisco for him and KC Jones and combines with another Cali school like Stanford, or Cal, or something.

What other great players are at wake other than Duncan and Paul?

The "no cap" hurts Wake. It allows other schools they may have beaten in a capped league to have much more depth than Wake, who only has 2 big stars, and now Curry. Nobody else on Wake is great. They have some pretty good role players, but teams like UNC have Jordon, Worthy and Cunningham, along with McAdoo. Wake would only beat them with a salary cap. Without a cap I think UNC will beat Wake easily, although adding Curry makes it pretty even. A starting 5 of Kenny Smith, Jordan. Worthy, Cunningham and McAdoo should easily beat Wake without Curry.

One thing is for sure, these powerhouse Carolina teams (UNC, Duke, Wake / Davidson) will be beating up on each other in the same division.

If we get to a second season of this league things will be much more interesting, as no teams used in the first season will be eligible for season 2. The quality of the rosters will be much much lower, but that's what will make it fun. Trying to find a good team without many of the top players and teams available will be a nice challenge. We all play all the time with the Wilts and LeBrons and Kareems. We'll see how everyone does when they must have flawed teams.

Those Wake teams that won definitely benefited from a low cap. Plus there were other rule specifics that helped them more than any other school. But regardless, if that's the UNC team you would put together, Ben would sweep you and it wouldn't be close.
7/31/2022 3:44 PM
I agree with Kona - the WF + Curry team is going to be the best, including the not allowed UCLA team. That's 2 of the top 4 guards, one of the best big guys, and some other strong players like Collins. It's cool if some managers want to be creative in building teams, but they aren't going to compete. Once the big kahunas are used, if there is a second season of teams not used in the first, I'd likely be interested then.

UNC is not my team, someone else has them. You can't be sure of a team with Jordan, McAdoo, Worthy and Cunningham being swept, or even beaten in the series IMO, but we'll see if you're right if we can fill this league.
7/31/2022 4:01 PM
Yes I can be sure. Ben would sweep that UNC team. Billy Cunningham? You still have a lot to learn about the difference between real life success and sim success.

Anyway, I can't find a single combination left that would come close to competing with Ben/Wake/Curry, but good luck getting it filled.

Billy was a big star in the league I just finished, #8 in MVP score, but that's probably because only 1970s players were in the league. Still, if his best season was a top 10 player for the decade of the 70s, that's pretty damn good. The problem is all of the threes in the modern game have skewed the leagues here where players from the 70s are playing against modern players. The older players just don't have any chance of being 40% shooters on threes, or to shoot a lot of threes if they do happen to shoot a real good %.

If anyone wants to combine Auburn and Alabama you'll get Sprewell, Horry, McDyess, along with Barkley and both Persons.
My sixth grade English teacher tells me that should be both people.

Paul/Curry/Aminu/Collins/Duncan would be difficult even for a UCLA team to beat. For a UNC team, I could see one Billy Cunningham season being used (but not as a starter).

If no Cunningham who would the 2 big men be?

Cunningham is 100% at PF or SF. I assume that McAdoo will start somewhere, C or PF. Is Worthy really better than Cunningham for SF?

Billy's best 2 seasons:

Yeah, Worthy has the better FG%, but he's nowhere near the rebounder or assist man that Billy is.

Here's the advanced on Worthy.

Are you taking Worthy to start at SF over Cunningham with these numbers? If you are taking worthy, then who is the other starting big man with McAdoo?
