Beernoser's Bad Neighbor League Topic

Okay, I've made my decision. It sucks going first in this draft because there are after all my research three tams which are just as good as each other, and I have a feeling I could have gotten one of them with the eighth pick.

But rather than go back and forth another eight times, I'm going to go with the big names.

It's a little late in the dynasty, and the Babe's legs are shot, but I'm starting the draft off by picking the 1934 New York Yankees and looking forward to making my own Murderer's Row with Combs, Lazzeri, Gehrig, Ruth and Dickey.

DD is up but his slot doesn't come up until Friday. Still, once he's decided, he's free to pick early, but shouldn't feel rushed.

I can pick any time. I’ve got a top two set.

Draft starts tomorrow.

I have sitemailed everyone with a draft slot coming up tomorrow.

Feel free to pick early but only if everyone ahead of you have picked.

It's okay to skip someone, but only when your timeslot comes up. Don't pick early if someone has been skipped.

I do hope DD finds a way to roster the legend Mike Marshall. I ran a theme league a couple years ago in which everyone was required to roster '74 MM in an $80M cap and there was a prize for getting the best ERA out of him while hitting an innings minimum. Was a really fun league, and I am always eager to see how Dr. Mike performs, so I hope we get to see him here.

This pick came down to two teams for me. I won't name the other one because I don't want to influence anyone drafting behind me, but I made my choice based on pitching depth, some useful affordable hitters, and the possibility of maybe rostering a certain star player if the heavens align. I once read in a forum post here that if you can draft a WW2-era Cardinals team in a theme league, you should. I've done it once or twice and gotten good results (though Ted Wilks does tend to hate me for unknown reasons).

With no further ado, we'll take the 1944 St. Louis Cardinals.

The National League East has completed its first round.

I will soon be sending the Natl Lg East teams their second round screw assignments. Your job is to find the team that meshes the worsiest with the team they already have.

I assume we have to wait until the first round finishes, right? I mean, no one is going to be picking the teams we're going to throw as the initial daggers, but I do remember that we waited anyway.
