The Final Juice Tournament: Round Two Topic

Once D_ROCK97 makes his pick to close out the Top 30 picks, I'll then get the draft threads finalized for the 15 separate leagues. Until D_ROCK97 makes his pick (or tells me to skip him again and let GLOWGUY at #31 take his spot), I can't finalize the draft lists for the 15 leagues. What you see in "TheJuice6's Theme League Draft Forum" are the 15 threads that the drafts will take place in. I just don't have the Draft Orders listed in them yet...

Sorry to be. a pain, but I've never played in this before and find things very confusing.

League Alignment The top 30 teams from Round One will get to choose which league and which division in that league that they desire. After the top 30 team owners make their selection, each of the fifteen leagues will have a separate draft board set up in “TheJuice6’s Theme League Draft Forum” to finish out the picks for each league. Like the first 30, every follow up pick can and must include their division choice with their team selection.

What happens after these Top 30 get picked? I see the 15 leagues posted. Then what?

I have 8 picks after the Top 30. Am I assigned to a specific league? Do we fill leagues in order? Does it go in order from #31 to #360, and they can pick any league still open?
We are almost done with the top 30 draft, and then thejuice will populate all the league draft threads with the order for that league. So you'll have to check which leagues you draft in and when once they are all posted. Hopefully Monday, once the final pick in the top 30 is made.
Still confused. LOL.

I think my first pick was a #52 team. Does that mean I'm likely in league 1 or maybe 2? That's sucks. I don't want to play that era. LOL... Why can't I choose like the top 30 did?

Having #52 means that you could have anywhere between the third and fifth pick in whatever league you get placed in.

If I let all 360 participants in Round Two choose which league and division they want to be in, two things would happen:

(1) There's no way everyone will get the league they want; and
(2) We're now on Day Number 6 for just the Top 30 picks to be made. For 330 more people to choose after that, we would be starting Round Two in April sometime.

Just out of curiosity, are trades of draft slots allowed? For example, if someone qualifies for round 2 with a modern team, but then gets randomly slotted into League #1 in round 2, can they offer a straight up trade of league + draft slot to a team in Round 2 League #15 so they get a modern era choice again?

This has been done in the past.

We can give this a shot but it will have to be monitored as we go along. Knowing that some owners prefer some eras over others, when an owner has more than one team in a Round, I usually will try to separate their teams based on era. For example, if you have three teams in Round Two, you could end up with a team in League 2, League 9 and League 15. It doesn't always work out perfectly but it's the best I can do.

If you want to trade spots with someone who already has a team in the league you're trying to get out of, that's another thing I'd have to look at as well.

If you have 15 teams or less in Round Two, I'm keeping those teams in separate leagues. The only owners who will have more than one team in a league are the owners who have more than 15 teams in the Round - there's nothing else I can do about that.

Once the 15 Draft Boards are set up and ready to go, I'll open things up for 24-48 hours for anyone who wants to try and figure out a swap. Once I see that all chatter about trading spots has subsided, we'll begin the drafting. Once drafting begins, there will be no trading of spots.

1) So based on Rd 1 record, people choose and the lower rd 1 records get the end... (would that not leave team #360 at least with a few options to choose from in last remaining league?)
2) Do first post, first served for 30 picks a day. 11 days until done. (Ex: Picks 31-60 all get to pick in same 24 hr window, first posted, first serve (that serves as a tie breaker)

Thanks for clarifying all this.

thejuice is not going to do a 360-team draft. It's way too complicated. Think about all those with multiple teams. What if I had 5 teams left near the end and the only leagues available are 14 and 15. Say I already chose 2 teams in each of those leagues with earlier picks. So now, I could have 4 or 5 teams in a league?

He is allowing people to trade league, so once you find out which leagues you get assigned to, look for a trade if you don't like your league.

It's been brought to my attention that having a Top 30 pick can circumvent this rule. PEDRO has less than 15 teams in Round Two but chose two teams in League One with his Top 30 picks. Not going to change it now for this round but from here on out, the rule will also apply to the Top Picks that get to choose their leagues/divisions.

EDIT: And now, since PEDRO got two in one league, D_ROCK selects a second team in a league. Can't let one Top 30 guy do it and not let another. Geesh...okay - that's it. From here on out, no more.

lol ... and people wonder why you're getting out of the tournament business.

Amen red..we are killing all hopes juice changes his mind.

I fear that d_rock gave poor juice a coronary.
1/9/2023 5:07 PM
LOL, no...no coronary - at least not yet. The list is being finalized and double-checked right now and I "should" be able to get things posted this evening/tonight or, at the latest, in the morning. This one has been a head-scratcher...

FYI - thejuice6 gave me a shoutout in his site-mail, but he did 99% of the work. I simply audited his work and made a few minor corrections. Trying to get the teams into the proper drafting slots, while keeping all the owners with multiple teams split into different leagues is a unbelievable difficult and thankless job.

The Top 30 draft going 3 or even 4 deep into some of the leagues added an unexpected level of complication to his algorithm.

Looking forward to the drafting.
