I point you to this post: https://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?topicID=512678&threadID=11559600#l_11559600

No lesser authority than dh: "no one gets back a 2,3 AND a 4 for a 1st....you know this" "bad picks only affect the one team...but a bad trade affects all of us"
Until now, I thought I was the one who didn’t get enough value back.

this post you are referencing is from Jan 2019 which means we now have all the 19-20, 20-21, 21-23, 22-23 seasons available which really changes the surrounding circumstances of the landscape

the bottom line is that I have no problem amending the trade. What would balance things out? Originally Steelers offered 2,3,5 for my 1 and both 6’s.

As chewy pointed out, there is a lot more talent in the league now than there was in 2019, so you can’t really compare a 2019 trade to a 2023 trade. I would think that a sixth round draft pick now is more valuable than a sixth round pick from ten or even five seasons ago.

Wait wut? That is the craziest logic I’ve ever heard. Wouldn’t that make also the 2nd 3rd and 4th round picks worth more too? I swear some of you guys refuse to make sense.

Maybe the trade helps chewy too much I’ll be honest I was more focused on making my team. I just know from my side I’m going to have access to 5 really good players at the end of the draft to pair with Durant and Howard.

You guys have now opened Pandora’s box for every dummy owner to get rocked by every shark owner in lopsided trades moving forward because you couldn’t bother to be consistent. You’ve now compromised the integrity of this once fine league and probably cemented it’s descent into the dustbin. Pat yourselves on the back.
According to league rules, there is a fair play committee (that you're a part of) and a mechanism to veto trades.

The big question is: does cem know it’s his turn to pick?

I’m going to start talking again. After the above I thought what was I thinking, the point Rob made was absolutely true. I think Rob was looking at the trade to see if it was a fair trade and didn’t screw anyone over which in turn also screws over the other 22 people too, to a certain extent. What I was doing was looking at the trade from Steeler’s point of view. What I said was that this trade is better now than it used to be because now you can make two top ten picks and get very good players and still get good role players in the sixth round to complement your two stars with. There are more good players to choose from now than there used to be. While it’s true that chewy will also have better players to choose from in the second, third and fourth rounds, the fact remains that we are all playing with a $47 million salary cap and that puts a cap on how much anyone can screw over anyone else. We are all going to end up with a $47 million team. Both guys made a trade in order to help them get the type of players they wanted to use to build their teams with. I wish both of them success.
