Imo to make this viable it has to be considered a regular savage and you limit to maybe 15-20 predetermined clone options. For me personally I wouldn’t enjoy checking with przybilla seasons haven’t been used in the 12th lol. Just give us some, Lebron, kareem, wilt, kd, etc clones that would make the first 4-5 rounds much deeper. Just a thought.

i think the main hang up is figuring out when the first lebron owner announces what seasons they are using...has to be done ahead of time of itll take way too long to enter teams

That’s why I’d prefer limited. That way we could come up with the season for the clones beforehand. You could stack Lebron 1 or we could make 4 even lebrons. Also why I say limit it to 20 or so. Obviously it would be impossible to pick the seasons for hundreds of players.

Yeah I don't love giving up CP3 and I felt good about the coach cluster in that spot (that there wouldn't be a lot of overlap in strategy) so I don't love that trade. I am definitely surrounded by a lot of sharks in the new slot without that premium guard... but I just thought that was too low of a fall for KG and one other player who has slipped and I was trying to make a smart value play.

I don’t think I’ve ever used Garnett. He’s a player who is picked by owners better than me so he must be good. I know he has a standout season at SF with rebounds and assists. Even that one seems flat on efg%.

This isn’t back door criticism. I’m honestly curious why he’s consistently picked in the teens. Anyone?

He is basically elite at everything else other than shooting.

Also - I'm happy to be back, though my expectations for my own performance are low. DJ is not someone I've used a lot but feels like a nice, safe 1st round pick. My time is a little bit limited at the moment due to work, so it's nice to be able to plug in a guy who is very consistent in what he gives: 5 years of 2400-2900 minutes with something pretty close to 13/30 rebounding, 75 defense, and 14% usage. Of course it's always a risk to leave the 1st round without a high-usage, high-efficiency guy, so we'll see what happens.

You're going to love Doc. I think he's very under valued. 5 100 seasons, solid shooting, great boards. Tons of stocks.

The hardest part is the work to put all the seasons together. I don't remember how DH proposed it, but I think it works best if it's pre-determined. You don't want someone draft Wilt, then Wilt, then Wilt and the 2nd and 3rd owners not knowing what they're getting. Especially important with Wilt who varies from 50 ppg to like 10 ppg.

KG was a triple double machine when I had him. I just drafted poorly around him, as I tend to do.

Makes sense. There are also shooters I pass on because they bring almost nothing in boards or assists. KG would probably make them more useful.

It's been a while since I used Garnett and I don't really know how he's done in past Savages, but IMO it's a case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. He has fewer weaknesses than anyone else available in the same draft range - his efg% isn't great, sure, but that is mitigated by the fact that he shoots FT very well and doesn't turn the ball over much. He brings a bundle of assists (especially for a frontcourt player), rebounds, steals, and blocks, with elite defense too. He fits with almost anyone else.

observations:

Pex has the exact same pairing as I did last year but drafting one slot earlier. I know he did REALLY well with Barkley back in the day, so that makes me nervous.

'Heel has the exact same pairing I would have done last season had I not traded with DH to pair Barkley with Rodman. Jordan & Lillard was exactly what I wanted to do last season.

Bird & Magic together. If nothing else, that has some beautiful story behind it. It's also pretty deadly, and it's in Chewy's hands so - rut roh.

Embiid finally a 1st rounder. I really like the pairing with Dr. J.

Wade & Duncan is a rock solid start.

I hate KG & McHale, but mostly because I like neither KG nor McHale in the sim. Both are excellent when built right, and Rob will probably win 250+ games as he knows wtf he's doing.

Now it starts getting interesting because the top 30 are pretty well established, and with the 22-23 season out, the next group has been in complete flummox.

Absolutely devastated that I didn’t get Lillard.

Doncic was amazing for me two seasons ago. He’s a lot of fun to work around. Only really 4 good seasons but that 22-23 one is fantastic.

Luka is like the lesser defending Harden in the sim. One more season like the past 2 or 3 and he has to be a first rounder. I think him & Dame are borderline top 30 guys right now, so they went where they should have IMO. I would have loved pairing either with Shaq, that's for sure.
