Is HD Dead and just a Zombie now? Topic

Bro you have 10 teams right now. What are you even arguing? And before you say you play for free, which I'm sure you do, it still has to be fun for you or else why bother? If someone that hates 3.0 as much as you do has 10 teams, then I'm sure it could be a more populated game with developmental attention in its current form.

There's churn in every single game ever created. It doesn't have to be attributed to one single choice. People get bored with games the longer they play them. Fortnite, PUBG... Hattrick a simulation game with over 1m in 2009 has 200k active users now. It just happens. COD has to put out games every year to keep people interested. So without development and promotion, it's kind of a miracle we have anyone playing.

wow from 0 teams to 10 in no time... gotta love the comedy of it all!

someone asked about world population, i have that all somewhere, might dig that up - i havent looked in a couple years, but i think things had levelled off after the big hit from 3.0 and were fairly stable, but then the d1 jobs change kinda threw population all over the place with folks moving to d1, but i have no idea how that all shook out. i'm curious to see, i'll possibly post something at some point or maybe even update that website to have the info, which has been on my list for ages...

I was on the list of coaches that left when 3.0 was created. It wasn't that I disliked the changes or even that i liked the auction/poaching aspects of 2.0 (i actively didn't), I simply didnt want to take the time to learn a new game. Like most people, I like having success in this game and at that particular moment in my life, I didnt have the time to invest to learn how to achieve success. I came back a few years later and think the 3.0 changes vastly improved the game. Are they perfect? No, of course not. But I suspect alot of other people left because they dont like change / didnt want to learn a new game. So for the constant chatter to make significant changes, be careful what you wish for. These message boards screamed for changes to the job openings process. Now, I there's multiple posts here and on discord b*tching about it.

My main point is, either you currently enjoy playing the game or you don't. Significant change is actually a very risky proposition even when the changes are broadly good. I posted the financials of sporthub a while back (and there was a recent filing with more information recently). The short answer is this game doesn't generate a ton of revenue so its not going to get a ton of investment. Its like we are all playing a 2006 version of Sim City and grumpy Microsoft isnt still patching and updating it. Like most, my interest has waxed and waned over the years. I recently cut back to one team and that's upped my enjoyment. There's probably a point in time where ill take a break. It may be a month or may be multiple years again but I hope HD is still around when I decide I want to play again.
