Look, I've been trying to get a straight answer from you all day. I will answer your question after you give me a yes or no to my question.

A TEAM can field 8 players who strikeout every time. However, if the other player hits a solo homer each time, they'll still score 4 runs a game(if he batted at the top of the line-up).

That's not a yes or no.

I'm going to give you a yes or no answer.

In this scenario, did the 8 whiffers HELP THE TEAM SCORE 4 RUNS?

I said this about 52 pages ago...
You guys are talking PAST each other, and are arguing completely different points.
Mike: Striking out doesn't help your team that inning [TRUE]
Nuke: Over the course of a season, teams that strike out more score just as many runs [likely TRUE]
Bill: Some women like short men [doubtful, or doughtful if spelling challenged] and double-plays are the worst things since plus-sized thongs
Mike's argument is focused on that ONE at-bat. Nuke is harping on season-long stats. Bill is still re-living Freddie Patek's GIDP that ended the 1977 ALCS.

Striking out doesn't help you team in any inning.

The funny part about Mike's 8 players strike out, one homers four times situation, is that if those players had all grounded out or popped out or hit fly ball outs...the results would have been exactly the same. 4 runs.

Just mikey, pulling, one after another, individual situations (first and second! 14 Ks!) out of his ***, with no numbers or anything like facts.
Seriously, I think your 1/8 number is the first interesting number introduced by your "side."
And I pride myself on changing my worldview given new facts.
Do you think Mikey and his other cohorts do? Do you think they would answer as you have?
Or do you think he'd just quote his **** in bold some more? Put his fingers in his ears and think of his daddy?
