Flames Thread: Scoring is overrated Topic

Flames...scoring still sucks...

Give them time to gel as a team, then judge.
2/9/2010 4:48 AM
A lot of new players still trying to figure out the system.
2/9/2010 4:49 AM
Sorry but I've heard that song and dance about the Flames before... True it does take time to 'gel' but unfortunately for them time is not something they have a lot of...
2/9/2010 6:43 AM
Unlike before, we are getting shots and holding them off, ran out of gas against Tampa, I think (hope) this will be different... good test tonight.. see if the goals come
2/9/2010 8:53 AM
And really, who cares about goals as long as you win.. Philly is the only game we dont have points in in our last 6 or 7... with room for improvement, things can only get better

I found randle's meth

aginor, I would agree if it were 1 or 2 players coming in, but a third of the forwards have been turned over. It's a major overhaul and they need some more time.

If I were Brent Sutter, I'd be doing some serious team building during the Olympic break.
2/9/2010 8:56 AM
True, as I said they don't have the luxury of a lot time. After the Olympics it's a tight schedule and they're in a fight for a playoff spot.

It's lucky I guess that many of Flames are playing in the Olympics, so maybe they can.

Thats the hope.. get some chemistry... only Iginla, Hagman and Kipprusoff playing.. so work the other lines..
2/9/2010 12:46 PM
Well the beat goes on...Sure they won 3 games recently, let's see Edmonton, Carolina and Florida. What do they all have in common?? Hmmm... don't they all have a shot at the #1 pick in the upcoming draft? If these are the ONLY teams they can beat, they have got BIG problems!!

What is that now? 40 games without winning a game in reg when the opposition scores at least 2?? If the Flames have any dreams of going anywhere this season.. they have to find a way to win games like this one. That plain and simple.. They had a shot at this one last tonight...but found a way to not to win.

I hope they can some how turn this whole thing around but right now that light at the end of the tunnel is a TRAIN!!!
2/9/2010 11:27 PM
yep.. there is a lot of work to get this chemistry going during the Olympic break... Our Defensemen looked like crap last night, especially J-Bo, leaving Kipper to bail them out several times
2/10/2010 9:36 AM
Problem is nick...is that is always 'something' that prevents them from winning... Hot goalie, Kipper had an off game, Defence did played poorly, slow start, didn't play 60 minutes.... Take your pick. But it seems to be ALWAYS some excuse.. To me this all adds up to a tee times in early spring.

I think the big first step was these trades by Sutter. It's a clear admission that the team was NOT as good as he thought.. Now it's a matter of finding the chemistry, pairings etc. I'm curious if Sutter is going to try to sign Stajan?? I think Hagmann & Stajan will definitely add depth to their scoring (something they are in desperate need of).
2/10/2010 10:16 AM
He will have to check out Stajan's asking price and then compare against other free agents... I defintely agree the money has to be spent on offense
2/10/2010 10:31 AM
My 5 game last minute parlay is right on target,I need the Flames to win big time ..Go Flames dont lose in spite of Randle your buddy..throwin that good love out there for the flames..kick the f-ck out of Dallas..you are rid of that phagot cancer ..its time to let loose boys..lets go Flames!!
2/11/2010 8:08 PM
crucial error ..why would i think the Flames could score more than 1 goal?
