Game 85: New York rallies from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game in the eighth, then wins it in the 12th on Mickey Rivers' home run, 5-3.
Game 86: Tommy John, better rested for his second post-break start, throws six shutout innings and Richie Hebner homers to help the Riders to a 4-0 win over visiting New York.
Game 87: Philadelphia scores six times over the final three innings, but the Riders rally for four in the ninth, scoring the last one on an error by Pig shortstop Luis Gomez, to pull out a 9-8 win at home.
Game 88: Larry Hisle homers and Lary Sorensen is brilliant for seven innings as the Riders win at Philadelphia 4-3. Rich Gossage has some trouble in the ninth but holds on for his 18th save.
Game 89: Bob Randall is 3-3 with two scored and two driven in, and John Matlack limits the Pi to one run over eight innings, as the Riders beat St. Louis 9-1.
Game 90: Hal McRae has four hits, including three doubles, and four RBI as the Riders sweep St. Louis with an 11-6 win. Tommy John improves to 12-6.
After winning five straight against NL teams, the Riders return to PL competition with a visit from the New York Mammoths (45-45).
