I've answered your question many, many times. What the team does to overcome a litany of whiffs is what scores runs. The correlation between strikeouts and runs is this:
You don't score when you strikeout.

Do you believe that teams score more runs when they strikeout less?

Back on page 7 of the first thread, it was determined that a poor defensive play could not be a benefit of putting the ball in play. It's only fair that a poor play by the defense is not included during the whiff.

A passed ball or a wild pitch that plates a run on a swing and miss are also poor defensive plays.

A run can score on a strikeout even without a wild pitch or a past ball. Runners can also advance.
So: still not never.

You know Mike, maybe I've been going about this the wrong way.
If you're choosing between two players to put in the lineup with identical lines, with the exception of strikeouts, and you choose to play the guy who makes his outs in play, that's fine.
Nothing wrong with that. It's your choice. And you aren't hurting your team.
Why?
Because you'll score the same amount of runs either way.

It's what you do when you don't strikeout that scores runs. Striking out, in and of itself, does nothing to help you score.

Unless it scores runs or runners move over (which can happen even without poor defensive plays)
