yup and done. Said he'd check it out, but would be away the long weekend.
I may have changed the password since then.  I had forgotten it so I reset it.

It's currently either puckhead or puckheads.

yeah, for us large market teams, the only avenue closed off to getting players is the free agent list.

But on the other hand, the free agent list is also closed off to guys like Jay, BD and Gregos. If they come in here saying they're frustrated because they can't sign that $5M guy (or two) and close the gap on the big spenders, I'd understand that too.

The draft hasn't kept up with the league either. My 1st two draft picks stepped right in on my top D pair and into my top-six forwards. The 3rd one never played before being traded, and the 4th one sits the bench until two or three guys get hurt, hopefully developing into a player that'll be ready when it's time to move out some older guys.

I have five guys who won't be resigned when their current contracts are up due to their ages. Getting one player per year won't replace the body count much less the talent. No sympathy, I know.

Even the free agent list isn't closed to the big boys.  Sure, they may not want to cut anyone if they love their roster, but that is what I was just looking it in my first league.

It is currently in the season 10 offseason.  I long ago maxed out all my upgadres, and had over 330 million in the bank.  This last season was the only one played without a cap.

Just now, I went down the list and cut every player on the roster.  Every single one, coach and goalies too.  And still have over 250 mil to play with.  I could literaly start over and bring in any 20-25 guys I want.

I'm thinking it's going to take a 2/3 majority to get me to change my mind on the cap.  But I'm always willing to listen on that or any subject.

I still don't have THAT kind of money. LOL. But being over the cap, I also can't buy guys out, because I can't get another body to replace them with. I like to run with 23 skaters and three goalies, but I'm at my absolute minimum of 22 + 2 right now. Three guys out injured. If I buy a guy out with noplace to get another body from, I could end up with Hue Manns running around my 4th line.

It's isn't easy out here for a pimp with a $47M payroll!

As far as the cap, I'm definitely for keeping it. Even knowing I can go over with my own players I still typically stay under it for flexibility.

Same.

Of course, you appear to be much better at winning that way than I am.

And, the other side of the coin...

I'drather have the ability to keep what I've built together, than the ability to be flexible, if I have to choose between one or the other.

I guessed right on a team-building strategy. 16/22 skaters and both my goalies are 27 or younger.

I'm definitely on the young side too.  My hope was/is that as they all matured, they'd be a force.  But then I risk keeping a team of crap together, too.

I'm just never satisfied with my roster, so flexibility is important to me. If there's something I don't like, I don't want to stick with it.

i'm just geedy and want to stockpile more skaters.  if i could upgrade what i have i would be cool.  but as brain says i can't cut anyone because i cant replace them.  make a cap on the total roster to go along with it if you want

My former #1 Dman, Reima Trapani, has retired. Since I cut/let him walk he has really gone down hill. Good memories of him.
