Teammate Chain Twist: DRAFT Thread Topic

I do not know how 1949 Putsy (CowBoy) Caballero was overlooked but he will
make his appearance at SS and will loom large in Divisional play ... :)

Haven't had a chance to offer much meta-commentary on the draft, but I will say that I think Putsy Caballero to Schoolboy Rowe to Skeeter Newsome is clearly the best run of nicknames so far.

How about an email?

I do not have his email as he never provided one.

The sitemail I sent at 553am is also still unopened. I hope he is ok.

For now, I'm inclined to give Jfranco77 a bit more time, since we haven't skipped anyone yet and I don't really want to start in Round 19.

That said, we can't let the draft stall indefinitely, so if he hasn't picked or opened his sitemail by the time the PM2 games are played in 3 hours, I suggest that we employ the following option:

Jfranco77 and ronthgenius will swap spots in Rd 19, with ronthegenius twisting from the 1981 Montreal Expos and Jfranco77 twisting from whichever team ron picks upon Jfranco77's return to the world of the living.

Then, ronthegenius will start Rd 20 by drafting as per usual from a random team. But instead of Jfranco77 making his selection next, chewy3344 will draft off of ron's pick, and the draft will continue from there. Then, whenever Jfranco77 is available to make his Rd 20 pick, he will do so by twisting "backwards" from the random team that starts Rd 20.

So both ronthegenius and Jfranco77 will twist off the same random team in Rd 20, maintaining some semblance of continuity in the draft.

If anyone has a problem with this approach--chiefly ronthegenius, who will be most directly impacted--please let me know.

I'm good with it

I like the idea of switching jfranco and ronthegenius' picks to end round 19. Jfranco can easily make up his round 19 pick.

If jfranco can only twist twist "backwards" from the random team that starts round 20, then he would be at a disadvantage, because the rest of us can twist backwards or forwards, but that might be the best way to do it. We could also start round 20 and skip jfranco, then insert him into the draft when he indicates that he is back and ready to continue. Then, jfranco would resume his original draft position for round 21.

If jfanco has dropped out for whatever reason, and I concur with Chewy that I hope he is okay, then someone else will have to finish the draft for him.

I'm also good with waiting until after the PM 2 games are in before we do anything.

I am good with the jwillis solution.

To be clear, he can twist forward or backward chronologically, but his twist pick won't impact a subsequent draft pick. To illustrate

Random team for Rd 20 is the 1999 Springfield Isotopes

Ronthgenius twists this team to the 2000 Shelbyville Lemontrees, and chewy3344 then picks from the 2000 Lemontrees roster, etc etc.

When Jfranco77 is up to pick, he will also twist the 1999 Springfield Isotopes, but he will have to twist to a different team besides the 99 Isotopes, and his team will have no bearing on subsequent draft picks.

The only thing I’m concerned about is people using this as precedent when they don’t have any good options to pick from. Do they go MIA until a better draw presents itself?

I get it. I was just going to suggest that he could twist either way.
