TY.
I put Communique on my list because of your Dire Straits choice.
All the other EARLY Dire Straits releases are flat excellent. I just dig the more laid back feel to Communique what with Romeo & Juliet being on it.
My list was strictly "off the top"......... just 5 or 6 really good releases that you guys picks made me recall.
Who's Next (for example) would have to be strongly considered for any top 5 rock list I made.
Here's another one I almost put on that last list.
Tom Cochrane "Ragged *** Road"
GREAT Rock CD!
It was the follow-up to the very successful It's A Mad Mad World release which hit big because of the song Life Is A Highway becoming a "hit".
Funny thing is the mad mad world CD is great too, but Life Is a Highway is one of the worst songs on it!
Ragged *** Road just rocks harder, has more "edge".
Red Rider (Cochrane's old band) just might be the very best band out of Canada NOT to hit it big in the US.
Rush, The Guess Who, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, heck even Ian Tyson and Gordy Lightfoot all became stars but few can remember Red Rider.
Although the song Lunatic Fringe was a hit in most places.
Good song that!
End of ramble.
