curious: who is this targeted at?
4/26/2021 7:19 PM
well, targeted is a strong word since it's just a funny quote from a childhood movie. but it's to the points leader, since we're all meant to be gaining on him.

and kinoa is pretty much Andre the Giant anyway. he's used to fighting groups for local charities

Just wondering. I've seen that movie countless times and don't remember that quote. Inconceivable!

I am pretty disappointed in my team and I wanted to see which draft picks were a mistake. I tried to take a look at how many adjusted minutes per game my players were playing (Minutes/GP/5) against what round I drafted them in. Obviously some people were supposed to fill a specific role so this isn't the one and true answer.
Row Labels AdjMin Round
Shawn Marion 37.6 2
Dwight Howard 35.4 1
Sidney Moncrief 35.0 5
Deron Williams 29.1 4
Kyle Lowry 27.8 3
Chris Andersen 16.2 6
Nerlens Noel 14.8 12
Chris Gatling 14.4 10
Robert Covington 13.3 8
Rudy Gay 12.3 11
Kyle O'Quinn 10.9 7
Mitchell Robinson 7.8 9

The first six picks are contributing across the board as much as I expected them to. However, Bob Covington and Kyle O'Quinn jump out to me as two guys I drafted pretty high who I barely ended up using and I probably should have drafted someone who was a better fit in those spots. Nerlens Noel may end up being my best pick.

Nerlens in the 12th is an absolute steal

Interesting analysis. Was just posting in one of the league forums in response to amerk's success with Elgin

Here's mine:
Bird 37.8
Payton 40.2
Walton 22
Rollins 21
Reed 34.8
McMillan 11
Batum 20
Griffin 26
Walker 6
Gortat 22.4
Ball 0
Eaton 0

Bird and Payton are doing their jobs. After that it gets sketchy. Walton is doing fine, but as a 3rd rounder his overall impact is just not that high IMO. Rollins has been a trainwreck. I suppose it's a strategy mistake thinking I needed that much defense at all costs (cost being lack of usage and crazy fouls). Reed is awesome and more than earning a 5th round pick. McMillan would be fine in many situations, but he only plays a little behind Payton and usually doesn't have enough usage or shooting to help the 2 guard mess. Blake Griffin 100% earned his draft spot. 5 seasons of high usage with reb and ast at SF. After that Gortat is filling nicely for Rollins which is sad and Walker has one nice season. Can't wait for S5

I spent some time working through a test on another league and it looks as though I found a way to scrape the playoff brackets. There are some character limits in the code but as far as I can tell it won't be problematic. That means come playoff time, I should be able to have an automated sheet prepared instead of doing it by hand (meaning similar to the automated state sheet we have been using this season, we will have a sheet for tracking total score including byes, playoff wins, etc.).
