If they want to create real change its starts with changing the culture of their drug riddled, crime infested, low education urban communities.... Not by making it harder for the police to police. What a bunch of dumb *****!!! Gangs are the problems, not cops.
"Gangs are the problem"
More insight from an expert on the plight of the black, low income urban community. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us moy.
Maybe all3 will start educating us on homosexuality given his expertise in that area (you know, because of the dozens of gay friends he has).
39% of all gang members in the US are black, yet blacks make up what.... 13% of the total population in the US?
You have not provided ONE fact, only spoon fed rhetoric.
Again, "gangs are the problem" Where do you get that (besides Fox News?).
And really moy, I haven't provided anything where I need to provide any facts. Because I haven't made any statements. All I've done is rip apart yours. So not sure what me providing 'facts' or 'rhetoric' has anything to do with you being a closeted racist.
CHICAGO (STMW) — Five people were killed and at least 36 more have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday evening.
The weekend’s latest homicide happened early Sunday during a birthday party attended by more than 100 people in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side.
The man was shot in the head and chest and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The woman suffered a gunshot wound to the left arm and back and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where her condition was stabilized.
More than a dozen police officers guarded the scene early Sunday on Hastings, which was partially blocked off between Throop and Loomis. A large pool of blood could be seen in the street, surrounded by bottles, cups and other remnants of the party that took place before shots rang out.
Dana Fitch, 33, said she had just stepped away from the party and into another friend’s house on the block when she heard more than 20 shots ring out. When she looked outside, people were running and screaming.
“Everybody was just mingling and talking. It was fun. I haven’t had a good time like this in so long,” said Fitch, who grew up in the neighborhood, but now lives in Aurora. “It was just too good.”
About 11 p.m. Saturday, a 26-year-old man was killed in a Pilsen neighborhood drive-by shooting.
He was walking in the 1900 block of South May when someone began shooting from a passing silver sedan, police said. The man was shot multiple times and taken to Stroger Hospital were he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed those fatalities, but did not provide additional information early Sunday.
Earlier Saturday, someone shot a 29-year-old man several times in the head about 4:25 a.m. in the 11600 block of South Torrence, and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:05 a.m., authorities said.
Authorities have not released the man’s name. Detectives think the shooting may have happened during a home invasion that stemmed from a domestic dispute, police said.
An hour before that, a 32-year-old man was shot to death on the Near North Side.
Maurice Selvy was outside with a 33-year-old man in the 800 block of North Cambridge about 3 a.m. when someone opened fire, authorities said.
They were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where Selvy died at 3:11 a.m. of gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen, authorities said. He lived a block north of the shooting scene.
The older man, shot in the torso, was listed in good condition. Police said he was uncooperative with detectives.
The weekend’s first fatal shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the West Ridge neighborhood on the North Side.
Miguel Bahena, 18, was walking in the 2100 block of West Devon Avenue when a gunman in a gray hoodie and light blue pants began shot him in the chest, authorities said. Bahena, of the 5600 block of North Campbell, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:37 a.m.
The weekend’s latest nonfatal shooting happened about 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
A 22-year-old man told investigators he was walking in the 6000 block of West Chicago when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the right thigh, police said. He later showed up at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.
About an hour earlier, four people were wounded in a shooting in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
The shooting occurred about 3:30 a.m. in the 100 block of South Springfield, police said. A 20-year-old man was shot in the head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. A 37-year-old man was shot multiple times in the groin and abdomen and took himself to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. Two other males of unknown ages were taken to Stroger Hospital. One of them was shot in the back. Additional information was not immediately available.
At least 29 more people have been shot across Chicago since 7 p.m. Friday.
