If real baseball were like HBD, wouldn't the yankees tank for a year or two?

ok, so when trying to trade for players after the transaction deadline, will it (the trade proposal builder thing) let you put in a guy on another team that you didn't win the claim to? i always delete my mails after reading them and can't remember if i was the one who got the claim on a certain player. i've asked you before and you said there is no way to find out other than asking the current owner and hoping they remember or kept their emails saying who got the claim on their guys. i don't want to go thru the whole process of proposing a deal, having it accepted, then having it nullified because i didn't own the claim to the player i'd be getting...

STFU?

Not until now.

There would be no point.   They always make the playoffs.  The Orioles and Blue Jays would tank for a few years though.

I believe it will and then it will be nullified.

Not yet.

Here's your trivia question for the day:

Who was the first player to play for all four of the original MLB expansion franchises?

Bonus question:

Who is the only other player to also do so?
9/30/2011 9:45 AM
I won't even attempt to answer that question as I wasn't alive back then.  But, then again, I'm assuming 1961.  If that's not right, let me know.

Or this one either.
9/30/2011 9:56 AM
Two American League teams were added in 1961, two National League teams were added in 1962.

The question is not who the first players for theose teams were . . . it is who was the first player to have played for all four at some point in his career?

And the bonus question is who is the only other player to do so at some point in his career?

Would it surprise you if Nolan Ryan was one of the two answers?
9/30/2011 10:32 AM
What we've got here is...a failure to communicate.   I wasn't alive in 1961 or 1962.  I'm not going to even attempt to figure out who played for Cali, Tex, Hou and the Mets.     It's probably some obscure turd but Nolan Ryan did it so he's the answer to one of the those questions.
9/30/2011 10:35 AM
No, I was apparently typing it out when I got a call.
9/30/2011 10:36 AM
Nolan Ryan was the first to do it.  In fact, those were the only four franchises he played for in his career.

Darren Oliver is the other one.

Wasn't that fun,and don't you now feel more enlightened?
9/30/2011 10:47 AM
Not much fun.   Although I didn't realize Ryan was an answer until I typed out the teams so I find that kind of weird.   I think, in my head, CAL/TX/HOU/NYM and it doesn't ring a bell.   I type it and immediately go "Nolan Ryan, dumbass".    I'd have never gotten Darren Oliver.   I'd have thought a Matt Stairs-type who played for 38 teams in 7 seasons.
9/30/2011 10:54 AM
Do you get half credit for guessing Nolan Ryan and a turd since that what Darren Oliver has been for most of his career?
9/30/2011 11:12 AM
I think I'll give myself full credit because Oliver is an unnamed turd.
9/30/2011 11:19 AM
what's the difference between a good play and a great play other than one +?
