also more than half of your tax dollars go to the military. if we cut military spending in half, no one would mess with us, and you’d have more money in your pocket. instead, you want to cut funding for education, healthcare, Social Security (which shouldn’t be cut because you have already paid into it - kind of like cutting funding for something you already own), the NEA, etc etc etc. the right moans about the free market but they don’t want people to be able to afford college. if they go into debt to compete in a global economy and provide for their family, well, that’s their problem. no debt forgiveness for you suckers! corporations are too big to fail, but I’m not. I need a bailout. I’m in no position to bailout a multinational corporation that decided to be reckless with other people’s money. screw corporations. we need the bailout.
I want to cut Medicare and Medicaid not SSI. Or maybe regulate it better. And your 50%+ is not really true. That is discretionary spend.
Once you include the
60% of the budget that is mandatory spending, the military share plunges from
57% to
16 %, and the categories that include Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid collectively account for a majority of federal spending.
