Is this a good trade to make? Andrew Ford and Alberto Acevedo for Jorge Quevedo.  Ford is projected 72, 80, 60, 65 fielding and 73, 37, 75, 62, 66 hitting and Acevedo is projected 90, 92, 97, 94 fielding and 56, 45, 54, 56, 37 hitting.  I just lost my #1 pitcher for the year and am trying to finish above .500 for the first time in 6 seasons

Probably not.  He's a better option in the field but you lose more at the plate than you gain in the field, IMO.

I used to talk smack about other owners in the player notes when I traded a guy.   None of my players were avid bowlers but I should have called another owner that.

Acevedo is really the only player I'd put much value on.   Ford looks like a weak-hitting LF and Quevedo is a 3-5 SP depending on your staff.   Acevedo could be a decent SS if his glove improves 5-6 points.   To me, it looks like a lot of nothing for nothing so I'd do it if my goal could be achieved by getting Quevedo.

How bad is the Metallica/Lou Reed collaboration, "Lulu"?

Haven't heard it but just the thought makes my ears bleed.

If I had a custom Continental, and an Eldorado too, would I be the baddest man in the whole damn town?

No, leroyinahole, you would not.

which fantasy WR is more likely to become useful down the stretch, malcom floyd or jonathan baldwin (big, athletic dude on the chiefs)

Seems to me both are just younger versions of Jackson/Bowe.   Unless you know something about Bowe that I don't, I'd take Floyd because Rivers is much better than Cassel.    I don't see either of them having some break out 2nd half.

When will my house get power back?
11/2/2011 1:42 PM
Sunday at the earliest.  The poor neighborhoods are the last to get power.

lol! .. Good one.

Mike, which provides the bigger profit for WIS, do you think: MLB SIM or HBD?

I always thought the Tournament of Chumps was one of the dumbest giveaways -- rich get richer -- but it continues. Any ideas on something comparable on the HBD side?

So NASCAR was right about Jeremy Mayfield all along, eh?

I assume there are more SLB worlds.   I haven't played in quite some time but there never was a shortage of one to join.   It's $10 cheaper and there are less teams.    Just ballparking, I'd probably go with HBD just because I'm thinking there aren't more than 200 SLB worlds.

If you're asking what's the dumbest giveaway, it's the $4 credit for 4th place.  It's only $32 per season but it encourages losing.  Anything that encourages losing is stupid.

It certainly looks that way.   At the time, there was no reason for them to unfairly persecute him so his claims made no sense.

I agree... there's nothing worse than the $4 tanker credit. But my question meant to focus on whether something comparable to the TOC could be set up on the HBD side. Not sure what it would be. But if you can have a merged world, could you take 32 HBD owners, conduct an abbreviated, ST-like season and issue a similar reward to TOC? Not necessarily WS winners but something to reward good, long-term owners ... maybe include owners when they have five .500-plus seasons *without* a WS title (which is its own reward).

Paid partly by eliminating the 3rd and 4th place credits. Reward success, not failure.
