Just heard a rumour on Hockey Night in Canada that the Flyers are working on a deal that would involve Lehtonen for JVR, the cap is, atleast in part, holding them back.

Nitty is only a few years older the Kari (~29 vs 26) and has better numbers than him this year in 9 fewer games played (both GAA & SV%)...yikes...

No. 3 - Philadelphia prospect James van Riemsdyk. The University of New Hampshire forward, picked second in 2007, has been linked to Atlanta in a deal that would see a goalie going to the Flyers.

No. 2 - Thrashers goalie Kari Lehtonen is of interest to the Flyers. If Atlanta GM Don Waddell continues to rebuild, swapping Lehtonen for a prospect such as Van Riemsdyk would have to be seriously considered.

Nice of us to help Brodeur get his 100th shutout.

Jay Bouwmeester update: Garrioch's sources say the Canucks are offering defenceman Kevin Bieksa, winger Mason Raymond and a No. 1 pick for Bouwmeester. The Flyers are believed to have increased their offer of winger Joffrey Lupul, top propsect James vanRiemsdyk and a No. 1 pick.

One rumour making the rounds has the Coyotes sending goalie Ilya Bryzgalov and Morris to the Flyers for Lupul, winger Scottie Upshall and goalie Martin Biron.

Upshall & 2nd rounder to Peonix for Daniel Carcillo

Who the hell is he? From the looks of it we got screwed

I don't get that trade myself (says an unbiased outsider)

Everyone is irritating me today...

Carcillo is an agitator.. lead the league with 300+ PIMS last season in under 60 games... showed some offensive upside, but has disappeared this year

Though I love him in my hockey pool.. racks up the PIMS like a madman leading the league this year as well

Fom TSN

The 24-year old Carcillo is leading the league in penalty minutes with 174 in 54 games. He has also scored three goals and added seven assists.

The King City, Ontario native signed a two-year deal with the Coyotes this past off-season, but spent time in head coach color="#cc0000Wayne" Gretzky's doghouse for taking what Gretzky described as selfish penalties.

What a dumb move not only do we lose Upshall for this goof but also a 2nd. Does Homer not like the 2nd round in the draft because we just give them away these days.
