well, we beat the avs in the most must win game of the season. still a long road to the playoffs, but like nick said, if we had lost tonight, we were done. now we still have a decent shot. just need to start beating the good teams. though looking at how san jose is playing recently, we might have a chance on friday. especially as they'll be tired from playing van tomorrow night. one game at a time, and hope for some help. :>

i agree though, detroit is likely in. i doubt they'll falter. we're hoping for nashville (most likely, though they've been beating good teams lately), colorado, or LA to collapse down the stretch. and then of course we have to figure out how to beat san jose if we actually do make it in. heh. :>

IMHO, I think so. The Flames are no closer now to winning the Cup (the ultimate goal) than they were when he took over. He's been given more than a fair chance to build a winner BUT...... I feel it's time to change. That said, not sure who'd you bring in.

I dont think they did.. the Avs made too many mistakes that were forced... the first half was Flames, second half Avs

The Jokinen move was a gamble (didn't pay off). I think the kicker was the fact in some games late in the season last year... they couldn't afford to dress 20 guys (cap issues).

Agreed. We took on too much salary with Jokinen which us no room to call up players to replace injured players

True, the Flames have been stuck in that 'middle ground' for a long time. Not bad enough to have a chance at the #1 pick, not good enough to be a contender for the cup.

Now 2 points down and the Red Wings have a game in hand...things are not looking good.
