#140 PF, unranked overall, **; ineligible. A $120 special, so hopefully John Carpenter shows up. With his work ethic, he might wind up being a damn good player. At the moment, of course, he kinda sucks. Decent FT shooter, though.

I missed out on another two guys. I knew that I was going to lose one of those battles, but the other looked secure (it was originally with a Sim) until BC showed up. That was for a SF. They were getting me back for losing Dan Lee last year. I can make do with my current players...I'll keep Harrington and Horn on the floor a bit more and fill in the space with Parish and Millar. I may even occasionally stick Zodrow at SF. The team should be fine in the short run. I would've preferred to pick up Jamey Tam. George Epperson, I lost to UMass, but I took Parish from them. The heart of the problem was that I forgot about recruiting until the morning after it started. Carpenter was an emergency back up "plan" for losing Epperson. If I hadn't continued to battle on Epperson, I might have won Tam. I just didn't think someone would show up in a fight between three schools (Columbia was in there, too, until they signed two other guys), so I didn't keep a reserve. My mistake. I'll just have to learn from it.

Self grade: B-...at least I did get a five star PG

Exhibitions don't really matter, but we were called for too many fouls here.

I had to rest Millar because he was injured a little, and I didn't want to risk aggravating it. I think that hurt Lee's and Harrington's games. I hope we improve, though, for the regular season. This is an inauspicious start.

We got this game down to a 2 point lead by LSU with relatively little time , but then scored a total of 4 points in the remainder.

Fordham 0-1
Uh oh. Bad loss. Baaaaaaaad loss. Sacred Heart is not very talented and probably won't win many games this year. This is not good.

Memphis 0-2
We register our much-needed first win. With the new engine, Harrington is finally playing to his potential.

Richmond 1-2
Harrington is player of the game again. Zodrow needs to shoot FTs better. Millar has a good first outing after taking a break for an injury.

Fordham 2-2
We were ahead by 1 with a little over a minute . Shame to lose like that, but it's a shame to lose at all. Harrington is still playing very well.

Wisconsin 3-2
Wisconsin is ranked #2 in the country. I don't like losing on my home court but I don't think this game will have a negative effect on my RPI (unlike my season opener).

Kansas 4-2

Any win against Kansas (which, by now, is kind of a rival, albeit a rival with significantly higher prestige than us) is a good win. We barely shot any 3 pointers, which may have contributed to the number of fouls we drew and FTs we shot. Leonard Horn is looking like a bit of a mighty mite.

Fordham 3-4

We lost to a ranked team at their place. Not a surprise. Still, RPIs came in today and this might be a rough year. I'm hoping that the Fordham Rams can stay relevant, but right now we're looking like an also-ran, and while it may be partially that we only have one official senior this year, I'm getting worried. We're also turning the ball over far too often.
