Round 3-the tiebreaker! I'd take that Mike!

Pittsburgh is my second most hated team in the league (after Montreal). Not because of their current players, I actually like some of them. I have hated the Penguins ever since they tanked the season to draft Mario. Have never had any respect for them since and I don't think I ever will. For Montreal it's all about their annoying fans who think they are entitled to anything and everything hockey.

You mean Roberto Romano wasn't a #1 goalie??

Stupid Habs.

I dare say that a Flyers-Pens ECF would have made for much better TV.

Chuck, you guy stole Andy Brown from us!

He always drove me nuts Mike! He was, I believe, the last Pens goalie to not wear a mask when he played, and he would roam all over his own end chasing down pucks. I saw so many players score into our open net when he was caught out of position it wasn't funny!

I remember. He played here for a cup of coffee and was gone.lol.Speaking about a cup of coffee. How about Leino for the Flyers????He plays here 13 games last year, plays well.Plays till around January this year and they quit on him!!Said how good he was skill wise and strong on the puck and how much they liked him and gave him 1/2 a season.Instead we KEEP Jason Williams.Yuck.

How about this game to open the Consol Energy Center?

The Penguins announced that their first regular-season game at Consol Energy Center will be Oct. 7 against cross-state and Atlantic Division rival Philadelphia.

The game will start at 7 p.m. and will be the first after the team vacates Mellon Arena.

The Penguins have re-signed forward Matt Cooke to a three-year deal with a annual salary cap hit of $1.8 million.

While I personally think Cooke sometimes loses his head at times, he is a valuable component to our 3rd line with Staal and Kennedy.

Pens trade for the rights to Hamhuis. A solid d man if we can sign him. Gonchar appears to be holding out for 3 years instead of 2, or else more money for 2 years if he can't get a 3 year deal. I'd love to see us walk away from Gonch and use the money elsewhere.

Two good moves. Especially if Gonchar leaves....I appreciate what he did here, but he's just not at that top level anymore.

Hamhuis sounds like a prima donna... I hope he doesn't get mad if he doesn't get to play on the top line
6/26/2010 8:06 PM
Looks like Shero hasn't even talked with him yet, so we may never know.
6/28/2010 1:05 PM
He was talking to him Sunday and today. Hamhuis wants assurances on how he will be used, which is why Coach B is involved in the discussions as well.

As much as I don't care for Cooke, I am glad we resigned him.
