Cornbread Maxwell for some inside scoring and now I have and inside rotation Russell, Garnett, Pettit, Brand. Then at the SF Maxwell and Miller also will still use Garnett. Backcourt will be AI, KJ  will also include Miller. Lacking outside shooting (3's) but Miller shoots a good percentage and AI can knock some down. Great defense. Lack alot of post moves but all my guys can score exclude Russell but that is not what he is there for. All my guys can knock down shots so double teaming I think will be difficult. Probably not the best team out there but this team will compete every game and would be a tough out for every team in this league. IMO!!!

Just saw the other thread I will go into more detail in the other forum.

It's absurd that I'm taking this guy, but he's one of my all-time favorites and really fits my theme well.  There are many other guys that are all-time greats, but I've drafted this entire team picturing guys in their prime playing together, and Kenny "The Jet" Smith just makes sense here.

What he brings off the bench:  3's.  Him & Rice won't be on the floor much at the same time, so that means DWade / Frazier (whichever is on the floor with him int he backcourt) can cover for him on defense.  When they are, you can bet we're doing some post-iso crap with Kareem that's going to be very deadly.

He also brings a pair of rings and could throw it down in a dunk contest!

Coincidence that you found a picture with Patrick ewing looking on rather helpless?

Hey malone go to utube and watch Dream embarrace Robinson and then tell me Dream wasn't a post player! L M F A O! Seriously? F-ing unstoppable with his back to the basket! That is what a post player does but no one did it better than Dream! A few as good but none better. Plus he absolutely dominated games defensively!
You are thick.  Let me make this simple.

I do not need someone to tell me about Olajuwon.  I know as much if not more than anyone on this site about him.  I can guarantee that I have seen in play more in person than anyone here (I was at the 95 WCF as well as at least 500 other games).  Remember our little tussle a couple of months back.

I never said he couldn't play the post...I said he didn't play the post as much as he did the perimeter.  It is hard to get offensive rebounds off of turnaround fall-away jumpers.  Neither him nor Ewing were predominantly post players.  You can't change history, and because they could play the post doesn't mean they go against the nature of the player.

Furthermore, you can't say when Dream is on the perimeter, Ewing will spent 100% of his time in the post and vice-versa.

Now notice this...I only talked about offense.  I never mentioned D.  They can and may both play in the post on D.

for garyman....Alex English

hes too good not to be in this league(same with melo) and will actually fit in nicely backing up wilkins and havlicek on the wings...he can play the running uptempo game this team will likely be playing most of the time...he could even be used in a crazy smallball lineup of unseld/wilkins/english/havlicek/magic if the matchup allowed it...that lineup would wreak havoc on the break and be able to switch everything on defense

for me....Bruce Bowen

i dont have many minutes available and none for anyone looking to get their shots up....every team could use a guy who is one of the all time great wing defenders and can knock down the open 3...hes a great fit and a winner

My pick is for a solid down low defender that can give me a solid 18-24 minutes per night.  An awesome rebounder, passer, and 7'3 with touch.

He's not your Vydas.
He's not my Vydas.
He's Arvydas.
(Actually he is my Vydas)

Arvydas Sabonis

LOL U R STUBBORN! I got my other shooter malone. Maravich or Ellis on the weak side after Kidd, Worthy, or Hill make that extra pass from the post around the horn for that wide open weak side 3 SWISH.....How nice it is to have a great post player like Dream to make things so much easier for his teammates!

You don't need many offensive rebounds if you score like Dream. Of course he wasn't a great offensive rebounder when he was in the post with his style of play but then again few are. The best I ever saw was Moses but I can't really think of any other players like Moses was other than maybe Barkley who was smaller but quicker than Moses. Dream's post game was about speed, quickness, and a large variety of moves which no-one could stop one on one. Moses's post game was always power moves toward the basket so he rebounded alot of missed shots.

I guarantee you when Ewing is in the post Dream would be a much better offensive rebounder but he never had to play the weak side to take advantage of his superior speed, quickness, and athletecism to show what a great offensive rebounder he could've been from the weak side! I also guarantee you that Ewing is going to be a load on the weak side for his opponents also. Their superior size will also be a problem for their opponents on the boards. Dream & Ewing don't give up many offensive boards to their opponents either, one & done lets run. It's the same scenerio the Spurs had with Robinson & Duncan but both my guys are in their prime unlike the Admiral who wasn't!

Are you going to tell me that if Isiah Thomas had played on a fast break team like the Lakers his stats wouldn't have been way better? That is just plain ignorance. He would've put up huge #'s. He sacraficed himself for his team since the Pistons style of play wasn't Isiah's greatest strength which was in the open court. Isiah could do it all but you couldn't stop him if he had a great finisher like Worthy as a teammate!

Great players who are great team players make their teammates better which is what Dream & Ewing would do for eachother just like Robinson & Duncan did! These 2 pairs are similar in talent but once again my guys are in their prime! Prime =better results!

Melo is a great scorer but not a great teammate. He needs to figure it out soon or he will always be remembered this way. He has all the talent to be one of the greatest SF's of all time but can't figure out how to be that player!

what? ewing was a great team player? since when? he struggled to pass out of double teams and barely got any assists at all even though he had the ball almost every possesion....why do you think he couldnt dominate the bulls?...it sure as sh*t wasnt bill cartwright....he couldnt handle the pressure jordan/pippen and the rest put on him

yea i agree...i wanted to pick him but he just doesnt fit in well with teams unless he is the focal point and getting plenty of isos

but from a pure talent standpoint he can hang with any of these guys

He didn't have any offensive players to pass the ball to. They had few shooters. PF's who had to played SF and they had no shooting range! Their best offfensive player other than Ewing was Starks? As Len Berman would say- Cumon Man! Ewing is playin with an offensive powerhouse now so he can just do his thing. Dream & Amare instead of Oakley, Worthy & Hill instead of Mason, Pistol & Ellis instead of Starks, and Kidd instead of Ward. Ewing's in heaven now!

And by the way dh no-one could dominate the Bulls. Even Dream had trouble against their double teams. Every team struggled against the Bulls. They were the greatest defensive team ever! You'll have to do better than that.
