That's a starting RF unless your basestealing is at 5. He's your leadoff hitter unless you have a leadoff hitter that's nearly as good but can run-- but .370-.380 OBPs don't grow on trees.

He should be able to get on base very reliably but has poor speed. He defense is OK except he has a hole in his glove- he's a lefty anyway so couldn't play inf except 1B. No power to crush at 1B, RF or DH.

Would he be OK in left maybe?

Honestly if I had this player I’d give him his 3 entry level years, see what he wants in Arb and attempt to trade him. His value should be high and you can let someone else worry about the glove.

I had a guy on the playoff roster tear his ACL before the playoffs started. How/when do I replace him on the playoff roster? Or am I going to be stuck with 24 guys?

You can change your playoff roster all the way up to the point that the first game of that series is simmed. Anyone one on the 40-man at the time of roster expansion is eligible. You can alter your playoff roster between each series.

If you arb a guy three times, and then at the end of the regular season you see that you can still sign him to his first long term deal, is it likely that waiting until after rollover will result in him changing his mind and being unwilling to sign?

What are the overall and patience ratings?

If a player is willing to sign after 3 arbs, I'd be willing to bet he's willing to sign the next preseason.

Why wait though?

What "signing status" is the least likely to sign? Anyone have an idea of how they rank? I would guess:

1) Probably Won't Sign
2a) Undecided - His dream is to play Hockey or whatever
2b) Undecided - He has several offers to play D1 baseball
3) Looking to be drafted in the first round
4) Looking to be drafted in the first 5 rounds
5) May Sign if the deal is right

The least likely to sign is "Probably Won't Sign", and his consultant is his Mother. In fact, those players very, very rarely sign.

1) Probably Won't Sign-- rarely sign, although if you are persistent in exactly the right way you can improve your odds.
2a) Undecided - His dream is to play Hockey or whatever--sign far more often than not but sometimes don't

I was punting the draft and selected "probably won't sign" guys for my 1st 3 round picks.
Every single one signed without even coming back with a higher demand. So i got like 5M worth of turds.
None of the three were represented by their mother, which definitely supports bj's assessment of that being a really key ingredient.

If you want to punt, when they come back with a higher demand just don’t offer them any more money. You will get the picks.
