We're budgeting in World NTC (No Trade Clause).  I'm bored. Should I bother with it this season since I am going to win 70 or less games?

Nope, kanuckian Kapp.

It's what you do in the 70 win seasons that allow you to rebuild a team.  So, yes, you should bother.

I'm coaching at Stony Brook (DI) in Crum World. We made the NT for the fourth straight season. All available DI jobs are considered a "step backwards" by my agent. Is it even possible to take a step backwards from Stony Brook and still remain DI?

I have a couple of older players in one of my worlds who, last season, indicated that they were going to test the FA market this season and did not give me an opportunity to negotiate a contract extension.

Now that we've rolled, I can see that they both had a decline in OVR ratings from last season (one went from 75 --> 72, the other went from 74 --> 72).  Their initial demands are for one season contracts for reasonable salaries ($4.4m and $5.2m) respectively.  I know that there is a flaw in the engine where the "FA no matter what" guys don't say that during the budgeting period, but do you think that based on their decline in ratings and moderate one-season demands, they may have dropped their "FA no matter what" stand and will resign with me during the exclusive FA signing period?

Yeah, I'd say the one season demand is a pretty good sign.   The drop in ratings is what I look for but demand in years is a much better indicator.

would the case be .297 career average, 287 career HRs, 5 time all star, 4 time gold glove winner, 1 time silver slugger winner, 4 world series rings, postseason records for RBIs and extra base hits?  There are certainly guys in the HOF with worse resumes.
