can you even golf in Calgary this time of year? isnt it still buried in 3 ft of snow?

I'm not a Calgary fan or follow them too closely (only when they play the Nucks) but I sure don't like the position they are in. Sliding away from the playoffs, no 1st round pick this year, no obvious young studs coming up through the system, And the core players are starting to hit the down end of their careers. I predict a couple of painful years in Calgary. The consolation is that Edmonton looks even worse with their anchor contracts.

Actually they get these little things called "chinooks" once in a while that allows the truly hearty to get in a game here and there.

Well, that may be good, cause when they hit rock bottom we should see a nice long string of number 1 picks down the road and load up on a few Orr/Gretzky/Lemieux/Crosby/Ovechkin types.

We cant draft, so draft picks matter not... next year we will still be competitive... then it starts to look bleak.. but a new GM with a fresh look should be able to rebuild through free agency and some trades... we have never been good at building from within...

Maybe we should apply to move to the east... 6th place sounds good right about now

Pretty much any chances of making the playoffs is about dead now. The teams that would need to lose are not doing so right now at least. Flames sit back by 4 points behind the wings and played a game ahead. Even depending on either Colorado and Nashville to start losing is highly unlikely. So basically Flames are stuck and end up in 9th spot more than likely.

can't believe we lost to the islanders. that was the one game that should have been a guarantee win. makes it extremely hard to catch up now. still possible, but we're gonna need a lot of help to do it. and to win a lot of tough games. not over yet, but it might be before we play the canucks on the last night. :{
