Muddy 's bet is like saying there wont be a sunny day next year..but unfortunately for him there probably wont..lol..  who in all seriousness bets that the winner of the Stanley cup doesnt make the playoffs the following year? .. way to man up and make that risky bet
From what I read, the Hawks have already been eliminated from the playoffs.  I guess more should have manned up like nickhead did and taken the bet.

I'm sure it can be researched quite easily.  I'll give you a head start....the Hawks won't be in that group.

Don't know about last in the conference but after they won their first cup I think New Jersey missed the playoffs the following season.

The Hurricanes missed the P/O's after winning the cup the year before. New Jersey did it once too.

I find it funnier that the fans of the perennial underachieving canucks, who still have won exactly nothing, are making fun of a team who basically bet the farm to win it all. you guys can keep your twin sisters and their hart trophies, you can keep your "depth" and you can tell us all you want that the hawks are in cap trouble. ill take the cup we won last June over any of that any day of the week. I gave your team credit for the season they're having and I even picked them to win the west. why? because I'm man enough to be objective and call it like I see it. all you guys know how to do is tell us how much we miss a player who has faded the last 2 months into the player all hawks fans knew he would be.

How has buff faded? I just read an article from ESPN insider yesterday saying the hawks erred in trading buff. They mentioned his size, the way he can cause line mismatches with other teams, and the fact that he is primarily back to defenseman now but thanks to the hawks he can play forward (which in the day of the salary cap a player that can be moved in the lineup like that is invaluable). and again they mentioned Norris cup with buffs name.

how has he faded? how about 1 point and -5 in the last 14 games while playing over 20 mins per game? Norris? I don't think so.

I was thinking the same thing about you ;)

The only D-Man better than Buff right now is Lidstrom - even with the slide.  Buff is 25 years old.  It took Keith until age 27 to become a consistent player.  With Buffs size and 2-way play ability he will be unstoppable.  He already was unstoppable in the stanley cup finals.... Toews and Kane were non-factors the 1st 4 games of the 6 game series. I can't think of another Hawk with the balls to take Pronger out... twice.

Headline for the article written by Craig Button (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Button) - don't know much about the guy but his credentials look good.

in andru's defense, ESPN doesn't even carry NHL games.  :>

You would have a point but only after( and if) the Canucks go 50 years without a cup, because the Hawks went 50 season's between cups and they had 6 season's with only 6 team's in the league.

Your reply was predictable.....Hawk, Flame and Oilersfans always point to the "Canucks have won nothing stuff" each time a Canuck fan points out the obvious about their team.  So far I have been correct about everything I said about the Hawks, prove is where you are in the standings.  So blah blah blah.  Are the Bear's playing today?  (as I don my Packer's Jersey)

Buff is a terrible defenseman.  He was a force in the playoffs, but it remains to be seen if he can stay motivated all season.

Quick quiz for Canucks fans.  Think hard.....what is this?

Time's up!!!  It's the Stanley Cup!!  No wonder none of you recognized it!!!!
