Having looked in on oldresorter's tracking threads for Cal in Tark and Maryland in Crum, I've decided that I will not document the team so much in the future...it's too time consuming and I'm sure it's not the best reading experience to deal with game results on a day-to-day basis. I can summarize pretty easily and any time something particularly interesting happens, I can go into more detail. [edit: I deleted a lot of box scores on 6/25/07 to help this thread conform better to the ideal]
I will continue to post recruits and grades, ratings will probably go up about once a week...as always, I will have beginning of year and end of year ratings; I'll continue to shift the practice plan with midterms and finals, and show where my team is when I do that so it has context.
Basically, I've seen the error of my ways.
In the meantime, I beat whiteshadow's Yale team in the first round of the CT and I'm coming up against dugger13's Princeton again. Dugger has pointed out that I've dominated his program since arriving in the Ivy League, which is somewhat true, since I've got a 5-1 record against him, including 2 wins this year. I suspect he'll get me this time, though. I'm playing for the right to call this a winning season (having cleared the "losing season" hurdle with my first-round win), and he's playing for getting in the NT (he's got a fairly high bubble team right now, and is probably secure in making the tournament but I wouldn't guarantee it yet). If that weren't motivation enough, he no doubt wants to even the scorecard with me.
UPenn and BU also have a chance to make the Tournament. I do have some conference pride but at the same time, considering that I have no need for recruiting money next season I don't have a rooting interest in them making the postseason...other than to have a more challenging and entertaining conference schedule (with coaches active in the coaching corner).
Anyways, my point, if I have one, is that I'm going to document less and maybe comment slightly more, if I feel like I have something to say. Most of the real challenge in terms of teambuilding is done at this point, anyways, and it's just a matter of riding it out as my youngsters come into their own.
I will put up the numbers of whatever game ends my season, which should come soon enough. The best I can possibly hope for this year, after all, is a first-round exit from the NT. If I make it that far, which I highly doubt. I will document the CT championship, at least.
