Good, thanks for doing that! Hopefully the conference will get filled up soon.

Bump so we can get one more push for new coaches right before recruiting. When you're eating turkey sandwiches on Friday, watching LSU get upset by Arkansas, and drinking a beer while your wife battles the hoards in the department stores, do yourself a favor, and signup for a Wooden D3 job... you won't be sorry.

The Minnesota IAC could use some help! We were a top 6 conference for a couple of years but have fallen off. We would love to get some guys in, we only need a couple of humans to get back to where we were. In fact, we were either 2 or 3 last season with only 6 humans.

I'm considering picking up a rebuilder. Anyone know of any train wrecks that will be open that I should keep an eye out for? Preferably not in the northeast.

If you want a rebuilder, you really should check out the MIAC.

By all means, coaches should consider Wooden DIII. Loads of fun, tons of great coaches, lots of friendly rivalries.

Also figured I'd take this opportunity to call everyone's attention to four very interesting openings in the NESCAC...

Bowdoin (only loses one of its top 10 scorers from this past season; 8 returning players recruited by very successful human coach; underachieved last season under SimAI, finishing 13-14)

Trinity (Ct.) (finished last season 23-6 (2nd round PIT) under SimAI; 1st-team all-conference PG Nixon returns; 7 of the top 8 scorers return - ALL will be seniors next season)

Wesleyan (22-5 under SimAI last season; 2nd-team AND 3rd-team all-conference SGs Forsyth and Walker both return; another team with a huge senior class next season (6))

Worcester State (loses no one from a team that underachieved under SimAI, finishing 8-19; 2nd-team all-conf SF Robinett headlines seven returning players recruited by two very good human coaches)

NESCAC has two long-time coaches committed to staying, and somehow we finished 11th out of 32 conferences in RPI despite just two humans.

Come join us in Wooden!! (...and the NESCAC! :-)

i'll chime in for the MIAC. i joined the conference a couple seasons ago and it's a great bunch of skilled coaches.

I put together a partial list of good available D3 jobs in Wooden that includes both rebuilds and strong foundations. Hope we get some more coaches in the world. None of the jobs are in the traditional power conferences (the fatal fourway gangbang teams) or the rising mid majors (empire 8, minnesota iac).

Colby Sawyer (Coast Conference)- finished with the 74 RPI and C+ prestige which should slightly help recruiting. Will have 5 scholarships open so lots of money for rebuilding.

E. Mennonite (ODAC Conference)- 1 senior, 8 juniors, 3 freshmen (of which 2 are walk-ons).If you like recruiting this is the job for you since a new coach will turnover 11 of 12 roster spots in 2 seasons.

York (Capital Conference)- 2 seniors and 6 juniors means that you make over the roster in 2 years and have a potential postseason run immediately.

Webster (St. Louis Conference)- 4 seniors, 2 juniors, 3 Sophs, 3 Freshmen (2 of whom are walk-ons).This roster is barren so a new coach would have to endure a few lumps.

Trinity (NESCAC)- Theres a super class here of 7 juniors.Ride them to the post season year 1 then rebuild the entire roster after that.

Franklin (Heartland Conference)- Perfectly balanced class distribution and the #80 RPIlast season.Strong returning front court in Soph. C in Bobby Rapp (32 ath/72 reb/66 blks/ 58 lp) and Jr. C Will Loo (52 reb/ 63 def/ 56 blk/ 62 lp)

North Park (CCIW)- Carlbuzz’s old squad returns some excellent recruits and B prestige. The Soph and Jr class should set up a new coach for an immediate post season run.

Wesleyan (NESCAC)- some good talent here to make a run.Unbalanced classes with a big Jr class though.Whoever takes this will inherit star PG Raymond Moody (39 ath/ 74 spd/ 57 def) for a season.

Manchester (Heartland)- A former national power under kybjones, the program has fallen on some hard times. But there is a good core and a few building blocks in place.

Southern Vermont (Great NE)- 6 open scholarships and a star Jr PG in John Brown (40 ath/ 41 spd/ 54 per/ 53 bh/ 68 pass/ A Fts) make this an attractive job.

Elizabethtown (CC Conference)- 4 open spots and a ton of returning rebounding.Looks like former coach byns really focused on post guys so some good inside guys- Barry Cutter (38 ath/78 reb) and Joe Carter (47 ath/71reb).

Concordia (St Louis Conference)- 7 open scholarships and a barren roster means a complete rebuilding job.Best player is Soph C Cody Antone (56 ath/63reb/58 blks).

Neumann (Penn Conference)- 7 open scholarships. The roster is awful. No one is any good so major rebuild here.

MCmurry is open and they are an A+ prestige returning 10 players off a 2nd round nt and were the nt champs the year before. They are by far the best available team

When does recruiting begin in Wooden? Just wondering when I'll be able to look over the new team?

Little East Available Teams-

1. Umass Boston - Hydro who built this team has decided to move on, good history of Human coaches in the past now on to the roster- Ritch (sg) pretty solid freshman season - 543 overall rating, 80 per, 60 def, 64 speed. Hatcher PG will be a junior, 505 overall rating, 47 per, 58 bh, 64 p, 53 s. Speed, Pieper, good reb 67, 61 and decent lp 39,52 coming back. Both SF are back also.

2. Framingham St- This program could use a Human coach will have a lot of seniors this year lead by the three sg's- jackowski, norris, moderski. Coke and Sibley are okay at pf, sf spots could use some more rebounding and little more low post prowless there. Harrell should have some upside at center. They were 14-16 last season got to the finals of the little east tourney.

3. Bridgewater St- One of the programs in my eyes on the up and up. Went 4-23 last season could have won 8 to 10 games with a human coach will have 4 seniors this season and 2 open spots to get some more low post help. The 3 seniors in the lineup to lead the way- Cape (pg), Gilmore(pf), Jensen (c) with some help from junior Begley(SG) can muster some wins. The Roster has some lead way with it - you can drop Maria or Jones and get some better talent recruiting wise at pf and c some more rebounding can be useful off the bench until Gilmore and Jensen graduate.

4. Mass liberal Arts - This program will have 3 seniors next season- led by Gil, Wilkin at SG. They will lose 2 centers one of them their best player in Kull, and Triggs was a senior also the backup. So right way they can use some centers in Recruiting to add some Rebounding and Low Post to the squad. They have a good guard coming back in Dunn (53 per, 48 bh, 47 p) who will be a sophomore.
11/27/2009 2:06 PM
5. Fitchburg st.- Serious Rebuild - lose 7 seniors. A program you can build into your own mold cause you have to replace 9 players. Who returns Francis Frances- 49 reb, 49 lp, 468 overall. ashby - 48 reb, 58 def, 50 p at SF could be used off the bench. Lawrence the other SF- 463 rated, 54 speed, 51 def. This team needs a lot of work the sim coach didnt take advantage of the talent on the club.

6. Keene St - known as the pain in the a*s to the human coach a 19-10 sim team who is losing 6 guys, 4 seniors , 2 walkons. another major rebuild not as much as Fitchburg but pretty close. Bachus and Cronin who are back will form a decent backcourt and will be seniors and probably over 500 rated so you have a season to get some guards in to develop behind them to take over next season. 10.3 ppg scorer Boyd is back he will be a junior with the right coach a chance to make a 1st or 2nd team conf guy. Boyd has some backup at SF who will be a junior also. Keene can use some PF's and Centers right away.
