recruiting debacle Topic

hey kids (i only read most of the first 2 pages, so i am only including the OP and colonels in the mix). you really need to grow up. both of you don't understand d1 recruiting anywhere near the level of those you are bashing. just because you don't like daalter's and zhawk's answer, doesn't justify you acting like children. seriously, grow up.

and yeah, i would agree the case is borderline. but in no way out of the realm of reason for yale to win (or lose, i forget who was who). accept the FACT that your understanding is not up to the level you need to analyze the situation. i do it all the time, i expect every other coach in the game does it as well. its time for you to join the rest of us - and accept there is just a hell of a lot more you don't know than you do.

Are you serious? They don't teach you how to speel at Elluhnoy?
Yeah... My bad I was on the phone typing, you got me there
Hey! I went to Elluhnoy. And I got two degrees there!

Yeah, they were useless, and I don't do anything with them, but I got a great education, and I got drunk and laid a lot. As hard as that might be to believe...

I think the early lead credit probably plays into this...how does the recruiting history read? If Yale put their effort in earlier, that would emphasize the prestige advantage, wouldn't it? And make the deficit harder to overcome?

sorry. i didn't read after 2 pages so maybe it was already said and the tone changed. i don't see why people post something if they don't want to hear a rational analysis of their situation, maybe i just don't get it.

edit: ok, i went and read the rest. i rescind my earlier comment for crazy, who understandably came around after initial frustration.

No worries coach billy, just trying to get your goat.

Huh? Don't drag me into this!!!

P.S. Bite me Georgia, if you are reading this!

I'm not saying he got out and out screwed, I think he's got a legitimate gripe as to why he didn't get the guy and why the other team did. Guys like zhawks and dalter are basically telling him that his gripe isn't legitimate, and I've seen this gang "you're wrong, we're right" mentality first hand before, I just thought I'd pipe up and let everyone know that I thought crazyivan had a legit gripe. I would like to see more of an EA NCAAF/NCAAB styled recruiting myself, but that's really wishful thinking.

Crazy, now you have a better idea how much extra you need to spend next time. Live and learn.

don't teach everyone the math and multipliers of this stuff, they might actually learn something about recruiting dollars.

maybe the reason WIS won't give out precise info - is they don't know how it works...most of the rules and nuances are learned from the coaches forum. And they're mostly guessing.

Hmmm...reminds me of microsoft testing...just throw the crappy software out there and let the suckers troubleshoot it for us.

Amazingly, the only time the rules are changed or tweaked is when enough people leave...or threaten to.

I still think the bastard used booster gifts.

Which, of course, is completely within the rules, and really doesn't constitute a reason to question his heritage.

Then again, maybe he didn't give you correct numbers at all to throw you off, or perhaps misread his recruiting history.

i know im coming in late... and i realize ivan has not been helping his cause by getting so defensive... but,

i kinda agree with ivan... on two coiunts...
one-im more than a little suprised he didnt win that battle. i am usually at a prestige advantage, and it never seems to be worth that much to me.
two-as you might expect, i fully support his right to throw a tantrum.
