I loved the Kidd selection too; the fact that he will be lower in the point guard round means that he locks up a great player; while taking Kidd away from everyone else. it was for that reason that I would have selected Kidd too

Scud just to let you know going by how much debate (just with the first pick) i had and the different directions this thing could go this is my vote for best theme I have played in the sim. Nice!!!

If hockey gets discussed in this forum I hereby declare that all posts must include (in a positive manner) something about the Red Wings. Hey Hey Hockey Town! Yzerman (aka The Captain) is a hero to me as well.

That aside.... Gman is right... impact early. For me it includes positional flexibility but I suppose given the nature of this draft it is (or should be) of great importance to everyone. I can't see taking a 100% at a single position in any of the first 4 rounds because it will restrict you later.

So we've just about made it through the SF round and just about everyone got a major impact player, with the later round folks having a chance to grab some more heavy duty guys at the top of the next round (think PG/SG 100%)

Scud, I have to hand it to you - this is as awesome as I thought it would be. Provides balance and a very quick draft.

am surprised i ended up with dr. j... never thought that would happen since i'm not a fan of his in this sim...

alot of u are talking about flexibility being such an important element in this draft, but i don't see it that way.

i think once u deviate from the intended position, aka, garnett, not intending to use him at the sf, but see boards as being more important than what a true sf brings to the team, is the time u start drafting out of your comfort zone.

how fun...

I think flexibility is important, in that you want a player who is effective at different price points. Virtually all the first rounders are and those that aren't contribute across the board (LBJ e.g.)

I tend to agree, but the trick is anticipating which of the 24 will be available for you to choose from.

fwiw, when I say Rodman gives me flexibility I'm thinking mostly in terms of being able to target other needs above rebounding going forward. I'm perfectly prepared to run him at the 3 position (and may not have a choice about doing so at this point).
