09-10 draft league - FULL Topic

as far as cap, i think 42 or 47 works. will go w/the masses on the decision.

I'll jump in if ash jumps in. I need revenge for the first round beating I took in my halfway successful attempt at LTB's 3pt challenge.

And here's how it should be done:

Draft: ABBA BABABABA

Alot of people will disagree here I'm sure, but I don't think there should be any skips in Round 1. However I do think that in Round 1 (to keep things moving) that if you do not proxy the commish and the next two up, and your time slot passes, the next person up should be required to select the highest salaried player available for the lazy drafter. This should help keep things moving while at the same time giving the lazy bastard a halfway decent start.

Again this should only be in round 1. For all subsequent rounds, tough sh*t for those that don't know how to participate in a draft.

Cap: Who needs one? Let me draft the best team I can field from the 09-10 pool. I probably can't come close to 47mil anyway.

Thanks for reading my 2 cents. See y'all in the funny pages.

Great call on no cap. May the best GM win, and getting to even 42mil might be tough.

And upon further review, you're dead on with the standard snake style dying after the first double pick. Makes perfect sense for realism.

Jesus - I feel like Big Ern inviting you to my room. "Sly, I'm in 428."

Bender - you just got Munson'd.

I'd be willing to join. One suggestion, though: the players at the top provide such an advantage that just doing ABBA won't work. I would recommend doing ABBA, but with two picks in the second round (and probably only in this round).

Based on previous experience, there's no need for a cap. It's virtually impossible to go over 42 mil. on useable minutes anyway.

ok...still no rush to set everything in stone since we probably still have a few weeks before the release...but heres what im planning for the draft....

-once we have our 24 owners in place i will use random selection to determine the draft order

-owners can then choose in order the slot selection they prefer...id like to have all this set before the release comes out if possible

-once the players are released the owner with the first pick can go whenever hes ready(shouldnt have much of a decision)...im thinking we go 2-3 days after the release without a clock to give everyone enough time to get ready, check out the new players, and formulate a draft strategy, all while still having the draft move forward..the first couple picks should be no brainers anyway

-after that we go on a clock with draft times exactly like the odl...same drafting etiquette as well...if we are not out of the first round then im all for slys suggestion that if you miss your time slot in the first round you are given the highest salaried player to keep it moving

-of course no rookies or ww

-no salary cap

-the order of the rounds seems to be the big hang up...i propose a vote once we have all 24 owners between the following choices:

1. ABBABABABABA
2. ABBAABBAABBA
3. ABBABBABABAB

thoughts? comments? votes on round order?
