OD, you're killing me when you call MMT "emmy". I always think you're talking about me!!

i get tired of typing out "eminemintee" and "MisterMT" so i shortened to "emmy".

that extra "m" is pretty obvious, aint it?

emy

emmy

hmmm...

me thinks the original em* is busting oldavey's chops.

Dont you know I have a sweet sixteen game to prepare for? I really dont have time for idle chit-chat.

Whats funny is, I think that because of that certain people thought we were one in the same; which obviously I appreciated being attached to your multiple national titles rather than my consistent choke jobs in the NT.

Just busting your chops here, but isn't "mmt" shorter than "emmy".

Just for the record...RPI is not the #1 factor in real life. Also, check out the ACC in Phelan. There are 5 teams with a 15-11 or 16-10 record. All teams have between a 33-52 RPI. How many do you think will/should get it. Keep in mind that CT games have not been played.

Well, thats sorta a question which cant be answered until after the CT games have been played. Seriously you said you didnt wanna argue but here you go again, with your matter of fact statements which arent based on anything but your perception of things, such as SOS being weighted heavily...which is isnt.

My perception of things? RPI is not the #1 factor in determining the NT teams. And, I didnt want to argue yesterday as I needed to get some work done.

I was talking about quality wins.

Not to call you out? But what is the #1 factor? And what are you basing this on? It is well known that the selection committee never openly states any order of preference nor does discuss how teams were selected; they are known for their secrecy. It is widly believed among experts (read any article on the subject)...that RPI is the #1 factor as it typically has had the greatest correlation. But if you have anything that would be to the contrary by all means enlighten me.

Qaulity wins huh? I must have been having this conversation with another Sully yesterday, maybe it was Sully713 as he seemed to stick on SOS and not once (well, maybe once at the very end) did he mention quality wins...
5/13/2010 2:37 PM
I dont know what the #1 factor is, for the reasons you stated. I think it is a combination of RPI, Wins (quality wins), SOS, Last 10 games, Wins vs Top 50 RPI and probably more. I dont think one is that much more important than the other.
