I've found the issue with the play-by-play missing certain missed shot events. It'll be fixed for the next games.

Seble, since you seem to be reading this thread... do ya think ya mighta gone a little over the top when nearly every FCP team in the top 20 playing anyone at all... (not running FCP), several 100 pts lower than them in team ratings... lost... some by 40 pts to teams who aren't even in their league?

And before some complete fool chimes in and says rating don't matter.... yeah when your overall team rating to begin a season is around 785... it matters. You'r gonna have a couple kids there that can play a little. Funny how today ... if you press you seemed to forget how to shoot, defend, or do anything but foul people no matter how good you use to be.

PS. and I know these are exibition games... but if I'm Miami... and I'm preseason #1 and just lost to a team from the Ivy (who shouldn't even be on the floor with me) by 40... I have to wonder about my future... short and long-term.

For the record, I didn't notice any particular problem with press teams in the test world.

I'd give it at least a few games before you jump to conclusions.

I'll continue to monitor results and make tweaks if necessary.

poor seble. i know what he is going through, and it is not easy. we have been beta'ing the product i worked on for 2 years for months, with about 70 users internally at the company and 50 in the field. over the next 2 weeks (starting 2 days ago on monday) we are going up to about 600 users and then over time up to maybe 10 thousand. and i can tell you only one thing for sure... the last two weeks have been brutal! and, it would have been ten times worse if i didn't have some of the best bosses in the world. i am not sure seble is so lucky. so cut him a break, at least give it 2 weeks for everything to flush out before declaring the sky is falling!

I apologize for my overreaction. I was pretty excited about the new engine, enough to read the pbp of my first exhibition game, and the "missing missed shot" bug occured right after the tipoff.

So I was a little frustrated and probably jumped the gun. I am glad to hear it doesn't affect the results and is fixed.

That's all anyone can ask. I hope in a couple weeks we're all singing your praises

Just took a look at the new Allen recruits and it'll definitely take some getting used to, that's for sure. Saw a whole lot of low potentials amongst the D1 players, but I actually kind of liked what I saw. It's gonna make recruiting VERY important, but I think there will be enough diversity amongst the recruits to make things interesting.

From my initial glance, it looks like we'll be able/have to emphasize building a team instead of just signing a bunch of stud players and throwing them out there. In short, it looks like there will be a LOT more strategy involved with regards to recruiting.....

No one is that athletic and that slow.

I've looked at a few dozen games in Allen, and there is no question in my mind that the press is generating way too many fouls, and may be have been further weakened (perhaps indirectly) in general as well.

I also think that a -1 3pt frequency is producing too many 3pt attempts. I played a game against a +1, m2m defense where I set all of my perimeter guys to -1 and bigs to -2, and my team took 25 3p's (including several guys who took 4 of their 6 shots from 3p).

In the old engine, we would've taken single digits 3p's as a team.

Basically means you are forced to set a perimeter guy to -2 if you don't want him to take a majority of his shots from 3p range. Definitely not good, imo.

+1

Two of my players were set on a +1 3p frequency and they both ended up with 10+ shots from behind the arc against a 0/+1 zone. I rarely got that many 3pt attempts even when I had my 3pt frequency on +2 in the old engine

And most of the SF recruits still massively blow

Can I ask what defensive positioning they were playing, daalter?
