EOL Restart, Year I - ON THE CLOCK Topic

yah brad... ard re-configured 'em, but I don't particularly like how he reconfigured.

This is how I feel right this second...

I feel Orlando can stand on their own right now.  Easily.

I think out of the rest, Miami is closest to be able to stand on it's own, but I'm not 100% sure.

If you combine the Charlotte franchises (Hornets & Bobcats), I think that's a solid yet not overpowered team.

Neither the Grizzlies nor the T'Wolves can stand on their own (not even close), and I don't think they'll be competitive even together.  With the Raptors, they might be.

So maybe we still have 2 combined franchises... a Bobcats/Hornets (the Charlottes!) & the Grizzlies/Timberwolves/Toronto (the cold suckage).

ps Brad... I think you'll be happy with the Spurs.  They can easily be a top 5 team.

Not sure about the combined Charlotte team, although I think it's close.  They might suffer a bit on boards, although I'd say they could have enough of everything else.

I actually think there's an intriguing lineup to construct out of just Minny players that may fall just short of the playoffs but could be a spoiler.  (Maybe I'm crazy or stupid, though...)  Certainly combine them with Toronto (I can give or take the Grizzlies) and they're golden.

Orlando is probably a top 5 team on its own.

Miami can definitely stand on its own; it's perhaps a top 7 team.

Minnesota can also definitely stand on its own, especially if we ever get 09-10 players.  Toronto is also sufficient to stand on its own, and is probably better than at least 4 teams that will be drafted.

guess that leaves me the CLIPPERS

also, i like LTB's take on how the split franchises should go.  charlottes and fro-zone with orlando and miami on their own

First, I'm not sure we should be mentioning players' names - but whatever.

I can think of three very twistable guards that would form my Minnesota backcourt rotation.

Minnie lacks a high usg high efg interior player with high orb%

I suppose.  But so do some other franchises that already fend for themselves in this league.

There's no exclusivity of players in this league, hence why I didn't hesitate to mention player names.
