Not only were the weak-*** Dems lied to by the Bush Administration but the false patriotism that flooded over the country in the aftermath of 9/11 made it impossible to get a meaningful debate on the subject; not that any administration, Democrat or Republican, would dare listen to what the people wanted.

And those same people who think Obama is a Marxist are just as dumb as those who think he's a Muslim.  Anyone, and this includes George Bush, who bails out banks, financial services, insurance giants can hardly be defined as a Marxist.

CALLER:  You mentioned in passing earlier that Obama has taken his sixth vacation to Martha's Vineyard?

RUSH:  Yeah.

CALLER:  Well, in my opinion it seems like Obama is seeing his presidential term as a chance to see the sites on someone else's dime and all of our whining and complaining about the economy is just kind of harsh and is buzz.  What's your opinion on that?

Don't we have a short, or selective, memory?  It was about 9 years ago when a newly elected President took the whole month of August off while terrorists were practicing flying airplanes into buildings and did nothing even though intelligence agencies were warning members of his administration.

In the aftermath of the Blagojevich trial, the Republicans in Illinois have taken to bashing the Dems for corruption, saying how if they are elected in November, there will be clean government again.  Conveniently forgetting the fact that the governor before Blagojevich, Republican George Ryan was convicted of corruption charges and is spending time in jail.

One thing you can say about Blagojevich's corruption, at least innocent people did not get killed.

UH, seriously, Doug? 

Bush took a ludicrous amount of vacation. 149 vacations during his term.
Bush spent 487 days at Camp David, and another 490 at his ranch in Crawford.
2922 total days in office
977 days on vacation
Bush was on vacation 1/3 of his presidency.

Obama has taken 38 days vacation, and 32 days/part days at Camp David = 70 total.
At the same point in time, Bush had taken, 225! Days.

Number of weekend days in 18 months? 156! + an average job gets 2 weeks of vacation a year (3 weeks total), and federal holidays (11? over 18 months), for another 26 days. 182! Total days of vacation for a working person. Obama has less than half that. And considering the Camp David has half days factored, probably less than that.

And while it's not clear how they count weekend days, since a president is traveling frequently, and doesn't get weekends off as a regular rule, it's probably fair to compare him to a regular working class stiff.

So, let's not compare the two, because you look like a fuckwad when you do. Bush took the most vacation of any president in history. BY FAR. It isn't an easy job, and I personally think a pres should get a reasonable amount of time off, regardless of what else is happening. But there is the point of excess, and Bush reached that.

I for one am willing to give you full "credit" for 9/11. If the Bushies hadn't taken the bold and courageous step of basically ignoring Richard Clarke, hell, maybe 9/11 would never have happened. Well done,
