I am on the clock, negotiating with my free agent on contract terms.

Mariners select Chris Perez RP from Cleveland. Debated 3 choices (Aviles was on the radar too). Asked myself what makes this team better or at least more competitive.
We have no offense, but a really good pitching staff. Will adding a bat make a difference? Do I trust David A to save a gem from the starters (assuming we somehow get a lead)? My answer was to take the best player on the board and yes I do not trust David A.
Would love to hear your thoughts.

i think the M's pitching and D looks pretty good, looks like you have enough PA and 4 regulars who will not need to be subbed. if you stay on top of the team youll do and much better job than wakamatsu! he didnt have a full season of greinke, cliff lee, smoak and branyan
