How is overturning an actual vote by the people a good thing ever?

Wow, never thought I'd see swampfuck defend HCR.
Unlike HCR, Traditional marriage is supported by the people and has been voted for everytime the people have been asked.
We're talking about Congress and the Constitution, fucktard, not public opinion. I guess you'd prefer it if the Constitution read "Congress shall pass no law that is unpopular".

Congress passed DOMA, and it is being challenged in court.

How is overturning an actual vote by the people a good thing ever, you vomitous mass of hypocritical sheepshit?

Every time you post, you find some way to **** on the truth. It's ******* obscene. You have fewer morals than a child molesting lawyer with a fetish for splintery broom handles.

Incidentally, here's a handy list of all the previous times recent presidents have refused to defend laws they believed to be unconstitutional. Thus demonstrating once again that swampfuck is to the truth as my *** is to diamonds. The former simply does not produce the latter.

Congress passed it recently, and I cannot remember a fedearal court that decalred it unconstitutional.

I agree that the people cannot vote in an unconstitutional law. I just dont see how Obama can declare this one as so unconsitutional that he takes this dramatic step.

It sets the bar a little lower.

I guess this is one of those cases where reasonable men will disagree on an issue, and then one of the men will call the other one a fuc&%#rd.

Does anyone still give your militant attitudes any support. You speak out against violent rhetoric, but you are a poster child for it!

While I do not have a dog in this fight I am never the less amazed that you would call "**** you're pathetic" violent. Rude, obscene, crude.....but violent?

He also thinks "Bush lied people died" is an example of violent rhetoric. Either he's a total idiot, or he's lying again. Same difference either way, really.

So you dont think that accusing a person of causing the deaths of people with a concious lie could cause a violent response?

Maybe we need to set up some definitions.

I am using the same definition of violent that liberals use to define Palin, Rush and Beck.

And you are correct. That case is still standing. It was regarded as being such a weak decision that it slipped my mind.

You are still missing the main point here.

I can understand the need in a Democracy to sometimes end run a law for the good of society. Slavery is a good case.

Why has this been elevated to the level of slavery? Gays have access to civil unions across most states. This impacts no other aspect of their lives.

Going forward what standard are Presidents going to use to invoke this power? What issue couldnt this be applied to?
